🌟 Today, "gift" your smile and kindness. Watch joy spread!💥

📸- Smiling are four amazing souls who helped power our services: (from left) Lilian Liebert (volunteer, bell ringer and soldier who passed away May 25); Robert Pellitier (assisted his twin brother, John, with mini kettles, Robert passed away on May 22); Lynne Pakalaske (volunteer and Salvation Army employee, Lynne passed away on May 17) and Rose Weeks (food pantry volunteer who passed away May 1). Each has a place on our Golden Kettle Legacy Memorial Wall, where their love and light continue to shine down on and inspire us daily. Although they are gone, their impact remains.
We are grateful that they chose to be a part of The Salvation Army family. ✨

ONE WEEK AWAY!
The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac (safdl.org) is one week away from launching its 33rd season of Brown Bag Lunches, the free summer cold lunch program that has been nourishing families since 1993.
This is a community effort we are inspired by. Volunteers and partners of all kinds come together to keep Fond du Lac fed.

Summer is a canvas waiting for brushstrokes of adventure, connection, and joy! It's a time to tap into creativity, explore new experiences, and uncover hidden treasures. It's for letting the imagination go and loving where it leads. What incredible discoveries will a curious mind make with a gift certificate to 'treasure hunt' at the thrift store?

🤔Wonder what wonderful finds a young person would find if given a gift certificate (budget) and 30 minutes (time limit) to look? Wonder what would come from those finds?

The first Friday in June, is National Donut Day. Time to circle back to the history of this tasty treat which began with WWI in 1917. Female Volunteers from The Salvation Army used limited resources and army helmets to fry circles of sweet dough and serve them to the homesick soldiers on the frontline in France. These sweet treats were a morale boost and a reminder of the comforts back home the soldiers were fighting for. Donuts are an "all American" favorite😃🍩🍩 food. Join us in celebrating the circle of kindness and goodwill that the donut is - look for the sweet deals in your favorite sweet shop :)
