When In Doubt Send The Plott Out Ol Diamond dog was on fire this past season and she's ready for this season. She has been the best dog a tracker could ask for.

We are self trained and I guarantee we will not quit until she says it's a lost cause. 8 yrs together as a team

2 for *2. #1 for an old friends son. The shot was from a very high elevation but not a very long distance. As both dad and i assumed this deer was hit 1 lung, some liver, and some guts. Essentially perfect for the shot the young hunter was presented. Minimal blood made Dad back out and give us a ring. Not long after Diamond and I arrived and away we went. There were quite a few wound beds in the first 150-200 yards with no blood found in between each bed. After about 350 yards or so Diamond let us know the deer was close and quickly after that we had the young hunters deer.

Deer #2 - this dad reached out to me while on deer 1. He stated that he didn't find blood nor did they really have much to go on. He did know a local drone operator and had him come in and the drone came up empty handed. Knowing that diamond can tell if you have a wounded deer or not the hunter wanted to maken sure it was a clean miss. We got Diamond on site and uncommonly she started to act like this deer was hit but really wasn't confident in her actions. The stand was in pines which is tricky for dogs due to lack of moisture so we pushed her around all of the exits this deer could have used. We didn't get anything once we left the original shot site. This leads me to believe this deer was never hit. With the drone having zero luck and Diamond not hitting anything.

Congrats to our hunter and any other youth that were able to harvest a deer this weekend.

Although I have been awfully quiet this season we are still out here grinding when we get the call. With youth hunt this weekend we just wanted to remind everyone we are still here and still ready to help you find your deer.

Added a couple more recoveries for the season Sunday night of opener and then had a tough Monday. Our first was a hard track in tall open grass with pockets of small trees and blue bird sky's. Dogs need moisture for their noses if we aren't able to make it before the morning dew burns off it makes it very difficult for scenting. We were able to track this buck up to wound bed that had wet blood in it. All other blood before that was dry. About 100 yards later I watched a buck get out of a bed and leave looking like it had a hurt shoulder and the pace diamond had between the bloody bed and this deer told me that was 100% our buck. We called the track

Monday night as the storms were just starting we got on site of a buck shot the night before and had been left alone all day while we waited for scenting conditions to be in our favor. We traveled close to 12-1300 yards on blood on this deer and never found a single wound bed. The buck had traveled down fence lines or corn rows 1 corner to another. Once it reached the road both myself and the hunter agreed, that distance and no beds tells us this deer was most likely alive.

Both of these deer traveled similar distances. Very opposite terrain and very opposite scenting conditions. Deer 1 tall swampish grass, soft dirt, tree clumps, but very dry. We were on site for 2.5 hours. Deer 2 corn and fence lines (typically horribly dry and poor for scenting) but low light with a sprinkle and we were only on site for an hour.

With diamonds age I dont want to burn her out when conditions aren't favorable. I will do my best to do as we always have and take any and all tracks that come to us but her energy will be a major part of our decision. I believe we communicate with some of the best trackers across the state and if we cant help I will try my best to help you find a reputable team. Also since last year I started working with a drone operator I highly respect and know for a fact he's at the top of his game. RH Aerials, Caleb Hopp is thorough efficient, and most importantly to me follows the rules. There is alot of people out here trying to cash in on the drone boom with cheap equipment and zero experience, hire someone reputable.

2 bucks below are from Sunday night. Father son team and grandpa grandson team 2nd.

What a way to start out the 2026-27 season. We got a referral from a fellow tracker and tonight the scenting conditions were perfect.
Eric shot this buck in the later part of the afternoon, when the day closed he found his arrow and it looked great. He and his son attempted to track but came up empty. Not wanting to disrupt the track they backed out and made the call. From the fetching and the description of the shot I assumed 1 lung/liver.

We showed up about 4 hours or so after the shot and once diamond hit the impact zone her energy built up and away we went. This deer went around 350 yards and we found 3 or 4 wound beds on the way to this deer. At one point I felt we may be pushing a live deer and even mentioned to Eric how maybe we should back out and give this deer more time. I am glad we decided to push on. It wasn't much further into the track there he was.

In 8 or 9 years of doing this, that is the first velvet buck we have found. The velvet is really thin and can be removed easily. The mass in the antler and the enormous body this buck has made it an absolute stud.

I've always said I'm not a tracker for the money, I do this for the feeling that overwhelms me when we recover one. It was also great to see 3 generations of this family together, making jokes, and celebrating this deer.

Ol Diamond dog and i are almost always available to track as i work for myself and can make my own schedule.

Remember advice is always free. If possible take a picture of your arrow and especially the fetching. Man what a great buck and a fun way to start a reason. Please call or text if you have questions.

The site of seeing my ol pupper dog on my bed waiting for me couldn't make me happier. Ive missed her so much these last 22 days. The video is raw footage of what happened when i got her back today (in comments) not safe for work nor children YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Lucky Dog Rescue and FDL PD stole her from me in the middle of the night. There is a reason that FDL PD never charged me, because I had done nothing wrong. I dont understand how someone running a rescue can be begging for money and using my...MY beautiful girl for their propaganda post, and show up in a cyber truck to give her back to me. Also why have a store front where it claims to be an adoption center but you keep the dogs at your home??? Is it even legal to have that many dogs living at your home?

In the beginning I felt bad for Gabby and LDR because over the last 22 days I have had the chance to speak to others involved with different rescues and had some great conversations, non emotional or judgmental debates, and even some heart felt moments where we both had tears. Gabby showed none of those today, then after court sent out lies to people stating I was going to sell my baby and she was going to live the rest of her days in the cold and die....

I was told at court that Diamond has lymes disease, upon inspection, someone at LDR was prescribed the meds Diamond would need to battle lymes and anoplazmosis the same diseases I have on 12/6.... WAIT. isnt that the night at 1030 pm when she was stolen from her dog house with a metal cable wrapped around her throat?? Again at court LDR lied stating Diamond didnt see a vet until at least the following day. It also takes more than 1 day for the test results.

But she didn't lie about 1 thing. Diamonds health upon be "seized" showed not a single sign of poor health. Right there is where I start to have an issue with the so called rescue and its under educated owner who apparently has her own money but wants yours to fund theft and lies and call it a rescue. When they take a loved, well cared for dog who had a winter coat and you can say she was in fine health I have a problem. You got cold, the officers got cold and you stole a perfectly healthy animal from its home. Next time try some fur, I hear it works great. Instead you destroyed hers with chemicals and sanitizers for cleaning the dogs areas at your personal home.

You took my best friend, my only family from me during Xmas and can't even tell me you are SORRY. That's not compassion, that's blind ignorance. You wouldn't even show me proof she was still alive, as you sat on your high horse thinking you were gonna save her... its easy to save a healthy animal.

Diamonds true voice will be heard now that she's home with daddy. I promised id never let anyone hurt her and that she will live with me for the rest of her days.

There are a few irrefutable facts, LDR has a contract (aka funding) from FDL for being animal control, while unlawfully in possession of Diamond she was used as propaganda to fund raise, and after you stole her and kept her from her loving father for 22 days you asked him to pay you for doing that...

I challenge you to find 1 false comment in this statement. I may be alot of things but liar isn't 1 of them.

I still don't know how any of what has been done to me is legal. Fdl county and city things like thie should worry you. Daddy is coming ol pupper dog, and I believe my lawyer is ready to do what needs to be done to get you back home where you belong.

I swear if I didnt have bad luck, id have no luck at all. On the 13th I asked my friend to investigate a bother I had on my back. I have 4had 4 ticks get in on me this year but this one was in that special spot where you just can't reach it on your own. As suspected he removed a very small tick from my back. 2 days later it felt like I had a hump back and my skin coule burst open at anytime. I had another friend investigate the area thinking maybe we hadn't removed the whole tick or we just hadn't used clean tools. He confirmed that we got it all the first time, made sure to do a deep clean on the area and took the pics to show me. The next morning, more pain, more swelling. I shared the pics with my hound brothers and sisters and they all immediately said get to the doctor. They told me the specific tests I should request and what meds I would require and also for how long. Every bit of what they said was true. It was too early for me to show lymes but little did we know I had this s**t. I was contacted by the state health dept yesterday. Apparently this tick borne virus is one of the nastier ones you can get and if left untreated can be very harmful to your organs and fatal. I am on the right meds and now just need to make sure I take them and I should be good after a few months. 2025 has been a horrible year for me. My health lz my mental health, the loss of the 3 most important beings in my life, and 29k in legal fees. Im ready for 2025 and new beginnings. But I will do what I always have, survive.

Day 18 since my ol pupper dog was stolen from her home. Hopefully court on Monday will finally get her released back to my loving care.

Per the normal this is a long read but this is a very important one.

For 9 years my ol pupper dawg and I have had the privilege to help alot of people. She may be 10 but as you can tell in this video she absolutely loves what we do.

I wanna take a min to remind everyone who follows us and all the new people who will be coming to our page if the city of Fond du lac police department, continues the current path they are on. Please see the end of this post.

Back to Diamond; who as you all know truly is the brains of our operation and I am the dummy on the end of the leash. Her first owner beat/shock trained her when she was very young and had planned on her. She is small for her breed but no dog deserves to be treated the way she was. Upon finding this out a good friend of mine who previously ran Wildside Outfitters took custody of her and added her to his pack. He knew she was special. During her first bear season one day while being released from her dog box she stepped on a ground wasp nest and went back to the truck refusing to go back after the bear. After that, a few more attempts were made to try and get her to rejoin the pack but she just wouldn't go. As I said before her 2nd owner knew she was special and he reached out to me. I am partially colorblind which makes tracking my own deer incredibly difficult. Also at that time I had just gone thru a horrible break up and needed that kind of love only a dog can give you. My daughter and I drove north to Gleason WI on Jan 20th 2017. On the 21st we left with a huge snow storm and the 4th most important female of my life. (My Grandmother, mom and my daughter). I have video of the 1st time we put a leash on her and took her for a walk. In that video you can see the damage her first owner had done to her. At that time little did either of know what the future was going to hold for us. But i made a promise to her current owner and more importantly to her; No matter what she wouldn't ever be treated like that again and she would be able to live the rest of her days safely with me. With the 2017 hunting season already closed by that time she wouldn't see a live track for a minimum of 9 months later but we would begin building our relationship.

About 2 weeks in she stopped eating and I got scared and took her to the vet. He told me her stomach was twisting. The vet asked me questions about where she came from and what I had changed since she came home with me. I told him where she came from, and I told him she was previously a bear dog. He asked did she live outside prior? I said yes and he told me to get her a doghouse and a kennel and put her back outside. It just so happened earlier that week I saw a doghouse on the side of the road. I went back and luckily it was still there. I brought that home, screwed an eyebolt to it and tied a rope to that. The moment she got tied up and inspected the doghouse her tail started wagging and you could see her attitude change. I brought a bowl of food and water out and she immediately went for both. It was like she felt more at home with that rope and a bed of cedar chips than indoors. Over the next week she got lose a couple times (she has strong dislike for the trash man.) My dad and I drove to Sheboygan and bought her first kennel 6'x12'. Over the years her kennel had grown to 36'Ă—12'. Because I am getting ready to sell the house she has been back to the old days where she no longer has a kennel. Just a lead tied to a doghouse. Although her doghouse has been replaced by one I built for her, it has been drastically upgraded since her first. Her house has better insulation in it than most of our homes do. She also got upgraded to having 2 rooms. This allows her to get out of the wind. She is home outside in her doghouse.

In the beginning I never planned on doing this for customers I was only going to have Diamond do my own deer and maybe a few for my friends. One summer day my daughter was playing at our local school, and she met a boy. They got on the topic of their dogs and one of them mentioned having a Plott hound. The other child mentioned they also had a Plott hound as well. Later that night I was contacted by Matt Zoch of Coppers deer Recovery. Matt talked to me about Diamond and told me about some training techniques I should work with her on. Thru the magic of children, I had just met the man who would become a great friend and even better mentor. That first year I was lucky enough to get a doe, and Diamond almost yanked my shoulder out of its socket trying to get to that deer. Throughout that first year Matt would start to send me tracks and I think we took 7 total that first year I believe we found 1. Over the next 7 years Matt has continued to be a mentor to me. From that tuck tail scared little girl who was almost euthanized at less than a year old; to 7 years later considered by our peers in the industry as a reputable team that gives everything to try and recover each deer we go after. Grind and Find was our motto. I honestly do not know how many tracks we have done since her first year, but I know we have found many deer that would have went to waste these last 7 seasons in the woods as a team.

She taught me more about deer, scenting, using the wind, hard work, the amazing things dogs can do with a little bit of guidance and a lot of love. We have saved each other from charging deer, drowning in marshes surrounded by 9' tall grass, buck thorn thickets, coyotes, hundreds of ticks, and anything else the woods could throw at us. We have found some amazing deer throughout our years in the field.

My job in the woods is to read her body language to understand what she is telling me. We do a lot of talking back and forth with each other. She understands human much more than I understand dog. 1 thing is for sure, if you tell her she is wrong she will take you to the worst terrain on the property. She's a lady, she's never wrong.

Diamond has lived outside of my home from early Feb 20weeks after she came home until 12-3-25. Over the course 8.5 almost 9 years I have been harassed by my neighbors with calls made as recently xx/25 & xx/24. They have made many false accusations about her care, her shelter, and her ability to live outside to the police department every year. Her housing, level of care, and health have always been deemed as acceptable. The only difference between now and all those years was she had a cage around her.

At just after 10 o'clock on the night of 12/3 the Fond du Lac police used a catch pole and removed Diamond from her doghouse and impounded her.....

My Ol pupper dog had looked like that same tucked tail beaten dog I first met on Jan 21st almost 9 years ago. It made me cry as I watched her get loaded in the back of a police car.

That is the only details I can share as there is currently a civil case ongoing for her, return. But I can assure you of this; her housing conditions, diet, and level of care have never been better.

If you read all of this thank you. Our clients will tell you how special the relationship between Diamond and I is. I am hoping she will be returned to me soon, I made her a promise that no one would ever hurt her again and it's killing me that they won't return her. In the most recent communication from the police department, they gave me a couple of numbers to direct questions to either Capt. Dave Lecaptain of fdl or the city attorney Debra Hoffman 920-322-3423
