Kent Shultz’s impact on his students, athletes, and community is still being felt today.

A dedicated educator, coach, and mentor for more than 35 years, Kent believed deeply in the power of attitude, resilience, and treating others with kindness and respect. Now, his legacy continues through the newly established Kent and Sarah Shultz Family Endowment Fund with the Floyd County Community Foundation.

This fund is a meaningful way to carry forward Kent’s passion for education and his commitment to helping others succeed.

✔ FAFSA Submission Summary (not required, but highly recommended)
✔ Unofficial transcript
✔ One letter of reference (name + email)
✔ Personal essay
✔ List of extracurriculars, volunteer activities, work experience, and awards

We’re looking for Floyd County residents to join our Volunteer Impact Committee! 🌟

Do you care about making a difference in your community? Our Volunteer Impact Committee helps guide local grantmaking by learning about community needs, reviewing grant applications, and recommending funding for nonprofits doing important work in Floyd County.

As a committee member, you’ll:
✔️ Help review and recommend grants that support local nonprofits
✔️ Learn about community needs and effective, trust-based grantmaking
✔️ Serve as a connector and advocate for positive change in Floyd County

Committee members serve a 3-year term (renewable once) and meet a few times each year, with support from Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa staff.
