💔 OUR SWEET TWO-LEGGED PIP NEEDS YOUR HELP. 💔
If you know Pip, you know that this tiny little Chihuahua has already overcome more obstacles than most dogs will ever face in their lifetime.
Pip has already endured more than any little dog should ever have to. After suffering injuries that resulted in the amputation of two of his legs, Pip had to learn how to navigate the world all over again.
And he did.
He adapted. He persevered. He showed us that losing two legs didn’t mean losing his ability to live a beautiful, happy life.
But now, after everything he’s already survived, Pip is facing another devastating medical crisis. 💔
Last weekend, Pip was bitten by a brown recluse spider. What started as a spider bite has turned into an absolute nightmare for our boy.
Pip has now been hospitalized for over a week, receiving intensive medical care as his veterinary team works tirelessly to manage the damage and complications caused by the bite.
And unfortunately, we’re not out of the woods yet.
Pip now needs a surgery called a perineal urethrostomy (PU), a procedure that creates a new opening for him to urinate.
As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult ordeal for such a tiny dog, especially one who has already endured so much physically.
Between his extended hospitalization, medical treatments, and the surgery he now needs, we are facing a veterinary bill of approximately $4,500–$5,000.
And we desperately need help. 😭
I know everyone is struggling. And I know that there always seems to be another medical emergency, another unexpected expense, another little life depending on us.
But this is what special needs rescue looks like.
It’s not always the happy adoption photos or the heartwarming stories of dogs overcoming the odds.
Sometimes it’s sleepless nights. Terrifying phone calls. Veterinary bills that make your stomach drop. And the overwhelming responsibility of knowing that a tiny life is depending on you to figure it out.
Because what are we supposed to do? Look at a dog like Pip, who has already survived so much, and decide that saving him is simply too expensive?
I can’t do that.
Pip didn’t deserve the injuries he endured when he was found as a stray in Texas. He didn’t deserve to endure the pain and complications of a brown recluse bite. And he certainly doesn’t deserve to have his future determined by the cost of his medical care.
He’s fought too hard. He’s overcome too much.
And we’re going to fight just as hard for him now.
But the reality is that we cannot do this without the support of the people who believe in what we do.

I wish I could promise that this will be the last emergency. The last heartbreaking story. The last time we have to ask for help.
What I can promise is that we will continue showing up for them. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s exhausting. Even when the bills seem impossible.
Because dogs like Pip deserve someone who refuses to give up on them.
And more than anything, he deserves the chance to just be a happy little dog again. ❤️🩹
