Our October 13th Clinic is in the books!

We had an awesome day on Tuesday! We got 33 cats sterilized! Seven males missed their neuter appointments (guys, you had ONE job! 😂), but all 20 females showed up! Way to go, girls! 🐱

We couldn't be more grateful for the volunteers we had for our 1st clinic at our new location, Sonja's Barber Company in Louisville.

Deb Dehart, Carol Sporleder (our newest Board Member) and our pro-volunteer JohnAnn Thomas did AMAZING!! These ladies jumped right in shaving cats, weighing, cleaning cages, drawing vaccines, helping with paperwork, checking in and out, literally anything we needed!

A special thank-you to Lucy Eckelberry and John Brickey, who helped transport community cats to their appointments.

Sooooo much goes into these clinic days and we couldn't do it without the help of our volunteers.

Special thank you to Sonja Kulesza for letting us use her hair salon space for this life-saving work. She trusted us with her salon key TWO evenings ahead of clinic day, so we could haul in our supplies and surgery tables. That's some serious trust, Sonja, and we don't take it for granted! Sonja even let us house four kitty patients overnight before surgery because their caretakers’ work schedules made early-morning transportation a challenge.

And as always a huge thank you to The Traveling Vet, Dr. Jerden and talented Vet Tech Alaina Hatfield. Dr. Jerden is camera-shy, so you won't see many photos of her, but trust us, we're incredibly grateful for her! Vet tech, Alaina Hatfield, is wonderfully patient at teaching us important skills that help our clinics run smoothly. We are truly blessed.

💉 No kitty left behind! All 33 cats received their FVRCP vaccine, including those without funding. Thanks to your donations, every cat got this important protection.❤️

And to everyone who booked appointments and took the time to get the cats in your care or community sterilized: THANK YOU! You’re helping prevent unwanted litters and giving these cats the chance at longer, healthier lives.

A heartfelt thank you to Ben Jordan of Louisville for donating three packages of large, absorbent bed pads to C.A.T.S. ❤️

These may seem like a simple item, but they are incredibly useful on our monthly clinic days. We use them before and after surgery inside carriers and crates, and underneath our FatCat traps to help keep things clean and manageable, when we’re working with cats who aren’t always thrilled to be there!

Every donation, whether big or small, helps make our work a little easier and allows us to help more cats in our community.

Thank you, Ben, for thinking of us and the cats we serve. Your generosity truly makes a difference! 🐱❤️

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes here at Clip and Tips, preparing for each clinic day. I want to give a special acknowledgement to Nicola Wattles for always making sure carriers and traps are clean and ready to go after each and every clinic, sometimes 4x per month!! And to my husband Kevin for helping me (or basically doing it for me 😜) clean tables and other equipment that we will need for this weeks clinic day. Volunteers like this are absolutely PRICELESS!!!! We thank you very much!!!

When we ask for help, you show up in a big way!!! We were able to get table risers from Brenda Robison and we asked for a table, but were donated not one, not 2, but 3 tables!!! 2 from Susan King and 1 from Deb Dehart. Thank you Thank you!!! These tables will be used more than you know! We have been lugging around my rickety old tables that are falling apart to do bake sale fundraisers and now we are blessed to not need those anymore. What an awesome community we have!!!! Also a special Thank You to Josh Jocko Hinkle for helping make that happen and for selling almost 50 raffle tickets so far!

Thank You, Deb!

Grateful to Deb Dehart of Clay City, who generously donated a like-new table for our monthly cat spay/neuter clinic days—and it's the perfect size for our needs. She also supported our “Lucky to Be Fixed!” raffle by purchasing three tickets. 🎟️

And, the best part—Deb has offered to volunteer with us!

This multi-talented lady brings quite a resume to the table. She is a retired educator, former hair stylist, and an experienced AKC dog-show competitor. We are thrilled she has decided to lend some of that energy to helping the cats of Clay County! 🐱❤️

As a small volunteer-driven organization, helping hands mean everything to us. Whether it’s helping at our clinic, trapping, transporting cats, setting up, cleaning up, helping with preliminary clinic paperwork, or helping with a fundraiser, volunteers make this work possible.

Thank you, Deb, for your generosity and willingness to help. We are so looking forward to working alongside you!

❤️ This post is a long time coming. ❤️

Sometimes you have so much gratitude for someone that finding the right words is hard. We want to shine a very bright light on Brenda Robison, a true ally for the cats of East Scudamore in Flora. 🐾

Brenda cares for the colony and helps her neighbor, Margie Yingst, who at 100 years old has fed and cared for street cats for decades. We’re so grateful that a snowy visit to meet Brenda and Margie back in February turned into a friendship we treasure.

Brenda knows every cat in the colony and keeps a keen eagle eye out for medical issues. When something comes up, she’s quick to inform us, so we can get treatment started.

Brenda has also become quite the experienced trapper, patiently outsmarting some smarty-pants feral females to get them safely sterilized at our monthly clinics. 😺

She also stepped up when an abandoned mama cat, Willow, arrived with newborn kittens Jax and Juno. Brenda fed and cared for them in Margie’s garage and got them to good health through the long process of treating ringworm, and ready for sterilization, and new homes for the kittens.

Thanks to Brenda’s dedication, the East Scudamore colony is almost sterilized. She's working on trapping the last two cats! 🐈🐈

We’re also thankful to her husband Paul Robison for supporting Brenda every step of the way and hauling cats to our clinics. 🚗🐾 Brenda once remarked to us that Paul is even more of a cat person than she is.

We wish every cat colony we work in had an ally like Brenda. Now, if only we could clone her! 😂

Seriously, though—thank you, Brenda and Paul, for your time, persistence and compassion you pour into the community cats. East Scudamore is a whole lot better because of you. Frankly, we could use a few more Brendas and Pauls!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Sonja Kulesza for reaching out and generously offering her hair salon space at 148 South Church Street, just west of the Clay County Courthouse on the Louisville Square, as a venue for our monthly cat spay & neuter clinics conducted by licensed traveling vet Dr. Jerden.

Sonja is an avid animal lover and cat rescuer herself, so when she offered her space, it truly meant so much to us. ❤️🐱

As a volunteer-driven organization, we don’t have a dedicated facility of our own.

Sonja’s willingness to open her doors and share her space is an incredible act of kindness. Thank you, Sonja ❤️
