Thank you to every senior from Ferris High School who applied for this year’s Robert F. Rodriguez Leadership Foundation scholarships.
We are proud to recognize the 20 students selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship award this year. These students should be proud of themselves and their families, teachers, coaches, mentors, and friends should be proud of them as well.
Choosing recipients is never easy. There were many deserving students, and we took the process seriously. Applications were reviewed with several things in mind, including academics, leadership, character, essays, letters of recommendation, school involvement, honors, class standing, and the way each student represented themselves throughout the process.
No single number, title, award, or achievement ever tells the full story. Our goal each year is to look at the complete student and recognize young people who are working hard, leading well, and building something meaningful with their future.
This foundation is about more than scholarships. It is about honoring Robert’s name by investing in the next generation of leaders and encouraging students to continue striving for excellence in everything they do.
To the 20 recipients-CONGRATULATIONS! We hope you carry this with pride, not simply because of the financial support, but because your community believes in you and sees something special worth investing in.
And to every student who applied, as well as the supporters, sponsors, families, friends, FISD leaders, and community members who helped make this possible-thank you for continuing to believe in this work.
