Maggie Struble – Meet Miss Maggie!... a fierce 🦁soul, with a smile that brightens the room🌞. She fights her Rett Syndrome battle with so much strength💪. Mom Leslie says that Maggie “loves being fancy👗, enjoying the outdoors 🌤️(when her body agrees), and loving on dogs🐶.” Maggie’s three brothers, stepdad, and grandparents make her day the best! … and she loves calling mom her “personal assistant” 🤣. Maggie lives in Harper, KS, and we LOVE her spirit and fight!

Jiselle Pratt – Miss Jiselle is one strong 💪and sassy 12-year-old tween!!! She loves anything that is pink 🩷 and sparkles✨. Mom Jill says, “to know her is to automatically know love 💜, compassion, and kindness 😍. Her smile lights up every room 🌞and can persevere like no other”!

Jiselle lives in Franklin, TN, and the Pratt family are tireless fundraisers for all special needs children (and for GP2C!). We love Jiselle and the whole Pratt family!!!

Hey ya’ll – wondering 🤷‍♂️where I’ve been??? You might have heard we had a little hurricane🌀down here!!! Had to cut a pine tree 🌲off my house (see pics), but that’s not going to stop us! I’m back on the bike🚴‍♂️ this week, and dedications are coming soon!!! In honor of my broken tree and mangled roof (and to CURE RETT SYNDROME), let’s get those donations flowing again!

Coach Kourtney had the honor of being Kristi's little sister. Kristi taught her so much as a big sister but her biggest takeaways led her to be the incredible educator and advocate she is today.

Kourtney understood from an early age how to listen when no words were spoken and how to see the person over the disability. While she learned how to listen to the unspoken, she also had the joy of hearing Kristi talk through an eye gaze device in adulthood, which is why she advocates for communication access at ALL ages!

We are so thankful to have her on the Rett University and Girl Power 2 Cure teams to advocate for Rett families 💜

Five years ago, our team member, Lizzie, met Zoey. Zoey opened the door to the Rett community and Lizzie has been involved ever since. Now, she works with Rett University and Girl Power 2 Cure to support training and provide services in select states. You can find her at our events mingling with families and making sure everyone has their AAC devices accessible!

Lizzie has also taken what she has learned from advocating for Zoey and applied it to her practice as a member of the Assistive Technology team at her school district. She wears many hats, but always places advocating for better access to education and meaningful inclusion at the forefront of all of her roles. 💜

One of our favorite things about Rett Syndrome Awareness Month is seeing the ways families make awareness personal. 💜

Hallie’s sister, Brooke, took the time to teach Hallie’s class about Rett syndrome and, of course, tell them all about her little sister.

The smiles in this photo say it ALL! Brooke is proud of her sister, proud to share her story, and proud to help the people around her understand a little more about the person she loves so much.

Awareness can look like a lot of things. Sometimes, it’s as simple and beautiful as a big sister standing in front of her class and saying, “This is my sister. Let me help you understand her.” 💜

And we’re pretty sure Hallie couldn’t have asked for a better advocate. We love seeing these sisters in action!
