What a great way to jump into Summer Break!! We hiked 14 dogs from Nassau Humane Society, our biggest group yet! They enjoyed their pup cups and all of the attention from our wonderful hikers. Even though we are taking a break for a couple of months from walking due to the heat we will still be having some fun fundraisers so stay tuned!! 🦮🐾❤️☀️

Hamhock I is such a great dog and we don’t know why he’s been at the shelter for so long! He has been on a few hikes and we don’t want to see him at the next one because he has found his forever family so please go meet him at Nassau County Animal Services!! 💕🐾🙌🏻

My name is Hamhock, and I've been waiting at Nassau County Animal Services since February 15, 2025. That's well over a year of watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while I continue hoping my turn will come.

I'm a 4-year-old brindle boy with lots of energy, lots of love, and a big personality. I would thrive in an active home where I can play, explore, and be part of the family.

Meet our spotlight dog from the May hike, Ganon! He is such a sweet boy and unfortunately, is one of the long timers at the shelter. He loved being out in the fresh air and stretching his legs at yesterday’s hike, we can’t figure out how he hasn’t been scooped up yet! Please go and meet him at Nassau County Animal Services if you are looking for a new 4-legged addition to your family!! 🐾💕

Meet Ganon! (636 days in our care!)

Ganon is a about a seven-year-old, 61-pound sweetheart who's currently looking for a foster home while he undergoes heartworm treatment. He's a fantastic dog with so much love to give.

Here's what we've learned about him:

· Loves to run and fully believes he's a lap dog
· Gets along well with other animals
· Knows how to sit and walks nicely on a leash

We cover all his medical expenses while you foster.

What a great way to kick off summer by hiking a wonderful group of dogs from nassaucountyanimalservices! They loved playing in the sand and ocean and enjoying their puppuchinos when they got back. This was by far one of the biggest groups that attended and we can’t thank everyone enough!! Beach days are the best days for humans and pups. 🐾🦮☀️🌴❤️

This 4-year-old brindle bundle of joy is searching for a new home! Hamhock is a sweet, energetic boy who would thrive in an active household where he can play, explore, and burn off some of that happy energy.

He's neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and in great health, ready to start his next chapter with a loving family.
