Full-circle moments hit different! 💚 Khaliah FYAB President in 2017, and Ameria FYAB President in 2026. Fast forward through years of growth: Khaliah, now pursuing her Master's, mentored A.T. in our girls program this past summer. Today, they randomly bumped into each other on campus as Ameria officially starts her freshman year! Years in the making, but the bond is immediate. 🎓✨

We had an incredible turnout for Day 1 of our 2-Day School's Out Youth Celebration! A massive thank you to the amazing community partners who showed up to make this event a success for our kids:

🎨 The Creative Spot Non-Profit Organization – For bringing out the canvases and unlocking our kids' artistic brilliance.

🎮 Gamers Island LLC – For keeping the interactive gaming stations packed and the energy high.

🚔 Ferguson Police Department – For hanging out, engaging, and building positive relationships with our youth.

As our Executive Director, Aaron Harris, shared with KMOV:

"It gives our teens a place to be creative... and be around community leaders and community members who care about their future."

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Help Us Celebrate Our Youth! 📣

The school year is officially over, summer is HERE, and we are ready to kick it off with a massive, two-day School's Out Youth Celebration! ☀️🎉

An incredible community event takes a village, and we need passionate volunteers like YOU to help make both days a safe, fun, and smooth experience for our youth. Whether you can give a few hours on Friday, Saturday, or both, your support makes all the difference!

Here is the ultimate summer kickoff lineup:

🗓️ DAY 1: School's Out Youth Celebration
When: Friday, June 5th | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: Plaza 501, Ferguson, MO 63135

The Vibe: Creative activities, food trucks, a Silent DJ party, parent resources, and gaming!

🗓️ DAY 2: School's Out Youth Celebration (Part 2)
When: Saturday, June 6th | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Where: Teen Center of Excellence (9200 West Florissant Avenue, 63136)

The Vibe: Youth Speak Out Panel (candid conversations with law enforcement and civic leaders), Family Resource Room, food, door prizes, and special guests!

🎉 Two Incredible Youth Events Are Coming to Ferguson! 🎉

We’re bringing creativity, opportunity, and youth voices together for two exciting days designed just for teens!

📅 June 5 | 4 PM – 8 PM
🎨 Teens are invited to experience interactive arts demonstrations with Creative Space, plus:
🏀 An NBA 2K Tournament hosted by Gamers Island
🎤 An Open Mic for singing, dancing, poetry, and live performances

Come showcase your talent, connect with other young people, and have a great time in a positive environment!

📅 June 6 | 10 AM – 2 PM
💼 Teens looking for jobs will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with employers hiring youth.
🗣️ The event will also feature a youth-led panel discussion with the Police Department.

These events are all about empowering youth, building connections, and creating opportunities in Ferguson. Don’t miss it!

You heard Lamoni right! The Ferguson Youth Initiative is proud to partner with the Urban League of St. Louis, and Send Relief, to provide tutoring for Ferguson-Florissant students in grades 4–8.

Tutoring sessions take place weekly on Wednesdays, offering a consistent schedule that fits well with student availability and academic commitments.

Because of YOU… this is what the first 3 months of 2026 looked like 💚
✔️ 100+ teens found a safe space every Friday
✔️ 110 students received weekly tutoring support
✔️ Youth explored STEM through hands-on flight simulators & drones
✔️ $33,835 raised to keep these opportunities going
But what matters most isn’t just the numbers…
It’s the student who gained confidence.
It’s the parent who saw their child get accepted into their desired high school.
It’s the community continuing to show up.
We’re proud of the start to this year—and we’re just getting started.
