💚💛 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: LIZZI KERKHOFF 💛💚

Parents: Tarry and Jeffery Kerkhoff

🎶 After six incredible years as a Forest Park Marching Ranger, Lizzi Kerkhoff is preparing for her next adventure at Southern Illinois University, where she plans to study Zoology on a Pre-Veterinary track! 🐾🩺

🏆 One of Lizzi’s favorite marching band memories was winning state in 2023! She also treasures attending drum major camp and building friendships with students from other marching band programs, including Tell City and Paoli. These experiences have shown her that marching band is about more than competition. It’s about supporting one another, building lasting friendships, and sharing a love of music. 🎵🤝

🥁 Lizzi served as a drum major for the past two years, an experience that taught her valuable lessons about leadership, responsibility, and herself. When choosing her favorite shows, she couldn’t pick just one! Her favorites are A Modern Sonata (2023) and Do Not Go (2026). 🎼✨

🌟 Beyond marching band, Lizzi has been involved in Pep, Jazz, and Concert Band, along with Student Council, FACS, Ranger CARES, SADD, National Honor Society, Community Impact, Natural Helpers, Musical, Archery, 4-H, INYAG, and Dubois County CARES. She has certainly made the most of her time at Forest Park!

💚 Music has always been a safe place for Lizzi, bringing her comfort, lifting her spirits, and helping her work through life’s challenges. She describes marching band as a second home, where she has felt comfortable, accepted, and safe. What she will miss most is the sense of family and community, the friendships, the long practices, the competitions, and all the little moments that made the past six years so special. 🫶🎶

Although leaving marching band will be difficult, Lizzi knows the lessons, memories, and friendships she has gained will stay with her long after her final performance. Her time as a Marching Ranger has helped shape who she is, and she is grateful for everyone who has made this journey so meaningful. 💛

🎓Congratulations, Lizzi! Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and the lasting impact you have made on the Forest Park Marching Rangers. We wish you the very best as you begin this exciting new chapter at SIU!

All their hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice are paying off! We are SO proud of these talented students and everything they continue to accomplish! 💚💛
