Hello Piecemakers!

The time is just flying by, its that time again - our next meeting is here!

Calendar Item: Demo with Darlene! Shashiko stitching
If you have examples of Shashiko please bring to meeting and share. If you’ve done this type of sewing before and are willing to help with demo please let Darlene know!

Other Item: Bring raffle quilt ideas (at least queen size) - September 2027 will be here before we know it!

Things to Note:

September 26, 2026 - we will have a Work Day, with a Thread Painting Class Plus Trunk Show in the afternoon!

July 2026 Meeting - we will show our completed Christmas Card Challenge items ( I think this year we drew our cards from the hat at out January meeting since we didnt have our December meeting)

Meeting Theme: Quilty Musical Chairs Project & a Demo by Jean Stassen

Back at our November 2025 Meeting we played a fun game - Quilty Musical Chairs - where we sat in a circle and pieces of fabric were passed around the players while the music played and once the music stopped, you ripped the piece you had inyour hand in half, and then we continued to pass the smaller pieces around...so on and so on, until we felt like we had small but still decent size pieces for everyone! Now is your time to show off what you have made with the fabric pieces you ended up with! It can be anything, no requirements except to use the fabric from the game!

Jean will have a great demo!

Raffle Quilt - bring your ideas/patterns to suggest to the group so we can get started for 2027 quilt show! Queen Size

Rice County Piecemakers were busy making baby quilts, changing pads, burp clothes and bibs for the up coming Community Baby Shower. Thanks for a generous gift of flannel from a community member.

Our Mystery Bus Trip April 11, 2026. The Trip committee kept each shop a secret that was only revealed as we arrived at each location! We visited 5 quilt shops : Seams To Me - Algona, Iowa, The Quilted Steeple - Lone Rock, Iowa, Sew and Sew - Lone Rock. Iowa. The Quilted Forest - Forest City, Iowa and Creating Sew Much - Albert Lea, Minnesota. It was a great day together!

The Mystery Bus Trip was a success! We returned home @ 5:15pm! A 10 hour day trip!!
