There’s nothing like being in the middle of harvest in apple country! 🍎

From orchards to packing houses, storage facilities and sales desks, spending time with the hardworking, innovative and passionate people who make it all happen makes us so proud to be part of the apple industry.

Experiences like these make us better at what we do back in Washington, D.C. Huge thanks to everyone who welcomed us, showed us around and shared their knowledge.

According to U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) trade data, fresh apple exports totaled nearly 45 million bushels in 2025/26 (July to June). This is around 800,000 bushels more than 2024/25 export levels – a 2% increase.

During the same period, fresh apple imports declined by 550,000 bushels, or 12%.

More exports + fewer imports = a trade balance of nearly 41 million bushels!

It’s Johnny Appleseed Day! 🍎

Nearly 250 years ago, John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, was born in Massachusetts. Beginning in the early 1800s, he traveled across the American frontier, planting apple nurseries and trees that helped provide settlers with orchards across the Midwest.

His legacy lives on in American apple-growing history and in the enduring legend of the man who planted trees wherever he went. 🍏

Taken together, the U.S. apple industry supports more than 150,000 jobs, generates $10 billion in wages and $2 billion in tax revenue, and contributes $23 billion to the national economy.

September is National Fruits & Veggies Month! The U.S. Department of Agriculture Dietary Guidelines outline daily targets of 2 servings of fruit and 3 servings of vegetables.

One of the easiest ways to work toward that goal is by eating an apple!
