Meet one of our art teachers!
Jeremie Sorensen, also known as Mrs. Sorensen, was an elementary teacher for 30 years teaching all ages from Kindergarten to 6th grade. She always carved out time to do art with her students because they LOVED it and she saw the benefits it had on their academic performance. She watched them become risk takers and saw how their art work taught them to think creatively, which helped them to solve complex problems and develop skills that enhanced their learning in math, science, and literacy. Art, to her, was essential for fostering well rounded students. When she heard that the Churchill County School district was bringing specials back she immediately applied and was granted the Elementary 2nd through 5th grade art position. She felt blessed to have had the opportunity to end her last 4 years of her teaching career engaging over a thousand students in the creative process of ART! Now that she is retired, she enjoys being able to offer Art workshops at the Oats Park Art school.

Head on over to our website to sign up for her upcoming mixed media workshop! 🎨
