FLEA and the Thomas Jefferson Middle School Student Council co-sponsored a food drive to benefit the Fair Lawn Food Pantry & Human Services. Items of need were collected by each grade level and by faculty members. The donations that were dropped off today filled three large carts at the Food Pantry and will help members of our community.

Happy Thanksgiving, Fair Lawn!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Food Pantry this year. Because of your generosity, our shelves and our hearts are full.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers who have been working tirelessly these past few weeks.

We’re taking a well earned break this weekend. The Food Pantry will reopen on Monday to accept even more of your donations.

Our Freezer Is Full! 🦃
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are no longer accepting turkey donations, our freezer has officially reached capacity.
However, we can still fit a few frozen lasagnas, which are extremely helpful for our families and easier for us to store.

Because of you, 50 families received Thanksgiving baskets this year.
Your kindness and support made a real difference this holiday season.

Please remember that the Fair Lawn Food Pantry supports residents year-round, and your ongoing donations are always appreciated.

How are we doing?
We’ve seen an increase in new families requesting help, and your donations make it possible for us to continue supporting our neighbors. Thank you for your generosity.

At this time, physical grocery donations are most helpful because they save us the time spent shopping or placing orders. Monetary donations and gift cards are still greatly appreciated.

Thanksgiving & Holiday Food Drives FAQ

We have recently seen an increase in requests for assistance from families impacted by the government shutdown. Your donations make it possible for us to support our neighbors. We are grateful for your generosity.

I’m getting a free turkey. Can I donate it to you?
If you haven’t picked it up yet, please consider getting the free lasagna instead. We have very limited refrigerator space and can store more of those.
Please deliver frozen items directly to Room 109 during regular business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.
Do not leave frozen items in the bins.

When do you need donations by?
Thanksgiving baskets are assembled the week of November 17.
Holiday baskets are completed by December 19.
*We collect year-round, so if you miss these dates, your donation will still be used in our weekly food bags.

Can we arrange a tour of the pantry?
Yes! We’d love to have you visit. It’s a bit hectic this time of year, so please email [email protected] and we’ll schedule a tour later.

Where and when can we bring donations?
Donations can be dropped off at the Fair Lawn Municipal Building, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue (Parmelee Avenue entrance).
A black bin marked “Food Pantry” is located across from the door for non-perishable items.
The building is open Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, and during evening public meetings.

I’m bringing a large donation; can someone help me carry it in?
We cannot guarantee help or cart availability as it’s a very busy time of year.
You’re welcome to borrow a bins to bring items from your car, just please return them when finished.

Can I receive a thank-you note or acknowledgement?
Yes! Please email [email protected] with your name and donation details.

Do you need volunteers to help put away donations?
Not at the moment. Please email [email protected] if you’d like to be contacted when volunteer opportunities become available.

Summer is the hardest time of year for food banks. Demand increases when families can’t rely on school lunches, but donations drop without the holiday giving season. Right now, our pantry shelves are running low and we urgently need your help to support our Fair Lawn neighbors facing food insecurity.
