It seems that we need to explicitly state this... Just because Momma is in urgent need of placement doesn't mean she will just be given to anyone. It needs to be a good fit with the family's lifestyle and household. She needs to meet the family. She needs to test with the resident pets. They need to be able to show that they have the means to responsibly take care of her for the rest of her life.

We say this because we have received several comments/messages like, "What is the address to go pick her up?" or "you can come drop her off," etc. Her rehoming is being facilitated by the neighbor who has been caring for her, and Momma deserves long-term successful placement with a loving family, not a quick fix.

With that being said.......

🚨PLEASE HELP, Momma needs placement now🚨 Momma has lived at an owned but abandoned house for "protection" her entire life. She has been taken care of by the neighbor who is now moving out of state VERY SOON. She needs a plan immediately! She will need a patient family who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to adjust to a new environment. She has lived alone at the owned but abandoned house as "protection" for her entire life. Momma is approximately 5 years old, 70 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, and loves people and children. She is dog friendly with proper introduction and sensible management, but no cats for her.

Any public comments saying you want her/will take her, etc., will be deleted. We see/get many comments that adoption fees at the shelters are too high. Respectfully, if an adoption fee is not feasible, then it is probably not a good time to adopt a dog. It is expensive to RESPONSIBLY own pets. Aside from regular expected costs (food, treats, toys, training if needed, preventatives, annual exam and vaccines, etc.), there are almost always unexpected expenses/emergencies. This is not judgment, this is simply a fact that if you cannot afford an adoption fee, it is not a good time to adopt. ❤️❤️

People are STILL making public comments that they want Momma, then not following through. PLEASE STOP. IT IS DETRIMENTAL TO MOMMA FINDING PLACEMENT. PEOPLE SEE A COMMENT LIKE THAT AND THINK SHE IS SAFE.

Need a few kitties to be fixed? Visalia Animal Care Center has 10 surgery appointments available for Tuesday, June 23rd! Bring your cats in Monday, June 22nd from 8am-10am in a humane trap. This program is only available for Visalia Residents and cats trapped in the Visalia City Limits. 2 cats per person will be accepted. Must pick up cats following surgery on June 23rd at 4pm. These appointments are first come, first serve! We know kitten season is here, so get your feral cats fixed! We look forward to seeing you then.

TNR Program:
$10 per cat includes ear tip, rabies vaccine and spay/neuter
