Next week's Rotary meeting on Wednesday, June 24 will feature Niko Medved, University of Minnesota Men’s Basketball Coach, with moderator Mike Grimm. ⚙💛

A new era in Golden Gopher Basketball started when Niko Medved was named the University of Minnesota men’s basketball coach in March 2025. Medved, a Roseville, Minn., product and Minnesota graduate, is the 19th head coach in program history.

The Excelsior Morning Rotary is grieving the loss of beloved leader, trusted friend, go-to “get it done” partner and self-described “fun magnet” Scott Gerlicher. Scott served as our Events Chair, bringing unmatched energy and vision to our club. He filled the summer Concerts in the Commons series and the fall Oktoberfest fundraiser with joy, enthusiasm and heart, connecting our community and making a positive impact that will continue to ripple outward.

A celebration of life for Scott will be held on Friday, June 12 from 3-7pm at The Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, with a presentation at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Breakthrough T1D & the Hendrickson Foundation in his memory. Scott loved a good party, so festive attire, including Hawaiian shirts, are welcome!

Scott, thank you for spending so many treasured evenings by the lake with us. We love and miss you deeply.

Welcome, summer! We're so excited for the kickoff of this year's Excelsior Concerts in The Commons. More details:

🎸 Opening band The Basement Kings will begin at 5pm and headliner Pandora's Other Box will start at 6:30pm. Thank you to sponsor Waytek, Inc. for making this evening possible!

🚌 Shuttles will run from 5:30pm - 9:00pm between Excelsior Public Library (337 Water St.) and Excelsior Commons. ​Extra parking is available in the Excelsior Elementary lot.

🍻 Sip & Support: Cold beverages (beer, wine & soda) available starting at 5pm. Purchasing on-site helps support Rotary’s fundraising efforts—thank you!

🚫 Reminder: No outside alcohol allowed per city ordinance. Valid ID required for ALL alcohol purchases—no exceptions.
