With two simple words—"Follow me"—Jesus invited Matthew into a new way of living, a new purpose, and a new relationship with God and others.

We hear that invitation, as well. Christ meets us where we are and calls us forward with grace, hope, and possibility.

Noticing God’s good works throughout Eufaula! ❤️

"Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colors,
and made their tiny wings." 🎶

"All Things Bright and Beautiful" (no. 147 in The United Methodist Hymnal) was written by Cecil Frances Alexander, an Irish writer, in 1848. It notes the work of God's creation in both the majestic--like "purple-headed mountains--and the minute--like an open flower. It invites in us an awareness of God's work around us.

🎵 "God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well."

Eufaula FUMC Food Pantry expands outreach

Plans community-wide food drive

The Eufaula First United Methodist Church Food Pantry continues to grow its outreach efforts after opening Sept. 20, 2025 through a Communities Impacting Poverty startup grant from the United Methodist Church.

Since opening, the pantry has operated nearly every Saturday, missing only two Saturdays for a total of 38 Saturdays serving the community.

The ministry began by collaborating with Friendship Kitchen, an existing communitywide partnership also offered through EFUMC that provides a hot lunch every Saturday for those in need. Friendship Kitchen is a partnership between God’s Helping Hands, Community Culture Church, Wayland Baptist Church, Lake Eufaula Christian Church, the Eufaula VFW Post and the Beta Iota ESA Service Organization.

The food pantry has since expanded its partnerships to include Nichols Grocery Store, Eufaula Lakeshore REalty, Our Favorite Place, Farmers State Bank and the Bank of Eufaula in addition to church partners. Organizers said they have also recently applied to become a partner with the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

Sent to me by a loved one this morning and it resonated so I thought to share:

Yesterday I had a thought that really stuck with me.

Jesus Christ walked through the streets on His way to the crucifixion—that was His path. Along the way, people pushed Him, mocked Him, hit Him, threw things at Him, and spit on Him… and still, He kept going.

On my way to church, I got frustrated—three separate times before the service even started. I almost turned around and went home because I just wasn’t feeling it.

But then I thought… what if He had given up that easily?
He didn’t walk away from His purpose, His calling, or His Father.
I’m far from perfect, but moments like that remind me—I’ve got to try harder.
