Welcome to September! 🍂

As we step into a brand-new month, may we be intentional about keeping our hearts centered on Christ. Let September be a month of seeking God first, trusting His timing, embracing His grace, believing His promises, and resting in His presence.

Whatever this month brings, we can move forward with confidence knowing that God is faithful, His timing is perfect, and His grace is sufficient.

May September be filled with prayer, peace, purpose, and a deeper walk with Jesus. ❤️

Today is a fresh reminder that we don’t have to have everything figured out to keep moving forward. 💛

Some seasons are about big accomplishments, and others are simply about showing up, staying faithful, and taking the next right step.

Be grateful for how far you’ve come, give yourself grace for where you are, and stay hopeful about where you’re going. God can do a lot with a willing heart, a little courage, and one more step forward. 🙏✨

Make today count—not by making it perfect, but by making it meaningful.

In preparing for our 180th anniversary celebration in November 2027, here is another bit of Eufaula First United Methodist Church history.

These missionary preachers were passionate about the work they were doing and the message they were giving. Their sermons were the simple, but great concepts of God, Man, Sin, Jesus Christ and Salvation. God was pure spirit, Creator of all things in Heaven and on earth, the Father of all mankind who exercised a special and general providence over all. Jesus was his son and both God and human. This doctrine of fatherhood was particularly interesting to the Indians. They said, “they had heard of God, but didn’t know that he had a son and had never heard that he had a wife”. So the preachers of the day must have had to be creative in the explanations of Christian and Methodist theology. Their energies were concentrated on teaching to read and write for the purpose of getting a Bible into every household.

“Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.”

Worry can keep our minds busy without moving us closer to peace or a solution. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:27 that worrying cannot add even a single hour to our lives.

Today, let’s choose prayer over panic, faith over fear, and trust over worry. God is already present in whatever tomorrow may bring. 🙏

A Look Back at Eufaula’s History ⛪️

We love seeing pieces of Eufaula’s past preserved and shared. The Eufaula Area Museum recently posted this wonderful photo of First Methodist Church on Main Street in 1963, reminding us just how much our community has changed over the years.

It’s amazing to look at these historic photos and reflect on the generations of families who have called Eufaula home.

Today’s message from Matthew 14:13–21 reminds us that compassion does more than notice a need—it moves us to respond.

When Jesus saw the crowd, He did not turn away. He had compassion on them, healed them, and fed them. The disciples saw a problem: too many people and too little food. Jesus saw possibility. What looked insufficient became more than enough when it was placed in His hands.

We also reflected on the difference between sympathy and empathy. Sympathy says, “I feel sorry for what you are going through.” Empathy says, “I am willing to sit with you, listen, and try to understand.” Compassion goes one step further: “I see your pain, I feel with you, and I am moved to help.”

Our world needs more compassion—more people willing to listen, share, serve, and believe that even a small offering can make a meaningful difference.

What do you have in your hands today? A little time, a kind word, a listening ear, a meal, a prayer? Offer it with compassion. God can do more with it than we imagine.
