NOVEMBER IS OFF TO A BUSY START!

We’re only four days into November, and Station 31 has already been kept busy with multiple calls for service!

Here are a few photos from two of our recent working incidents:

🔥 November 3 – Interstate 83: Crews responded to a well-involved vehicle fire along Interstate 83 northbound.

🚒 November 4 – Motor Vehicle Accident: Crews responded to a vehicle that had left the roadway and traveled down an embankment. Fire and EMS personnel worked together to remove the occupant from the vehicle and bring them safely up the embankment to the roadway.

These are just two of the eight calls for service our members have answered since the beginning of November.

As always, we appreciate the dedication of our members and the assistance of our mutual aid partners!

We are excited to announce our fundraiser for the month, and this one is going to be SWEET!

We are always looking for ways to support local businesses, and this fundraiser gives us the perfect opportunity to do just that!

Sweetly Taylor, a local Newberry Township small business, has recently started her own baking business and is now offering fundraising opportunities. We are excited to partner with her and support another small business right here in our community while raising funds for our department!

Fundraiser Dates: Now through November 15th

Delivery/Pickup: Orders will be ready the week of Thanksgiving. Depending on the number of orders received, pickup may be split between two days. Those dates are still to be determined, and we will provide more information as we get closer.

How to Order: An order form is attached! You can place your order through any of our members or by sending a message directly to our page.

Payment: Checks can be made payable to NTFD.

As always, we truly appreciate the continued support of our Newberry Township community. Your support allows us to continue serving our community, and we couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of you!

Thank you for supporting local and supporting your fire department.

Today, members from Companies 31 and 26 (Strinestown) spent the day together completing their annual Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher Course!

A special thank you to one of our very own members for taking the time to instruct today’s class. Having a certified fire service instructor within our organization is a tremendous asset, allowing us to provide valuable training opportunities right here at home.

We appreciate everyone who took time out of their Saturday to continue sharpening their skills and staying prepared to serve our communities!

Yesterday evening the Tanker responded on Box 68-28 in Fairview Township for a 2nd alarm building fire on Corn Hill Road.

Units assisted with water movement operations and provided additional manpower to support crews on scene.

Last night, NTFD and multiple assisting agencies operated for several hours on Interstate 83 for a significant hazardous-materials incident involving a tractor-trailer.

The attached press release provides additional details regarding the incident, response, roadway closures, and assisting agencies.

We thank all personnel who worked together throughout the night to safely mitigate the situation and protect the traveling public.

This week’s Thursday night training focused on vehicle stabilization and door removal techniques, giving our members valuable hands-on experience for vehicle rescue incidents.

A huge thank you to Wintermyer Auto Salvage for donating another vehicle and allowing us to use their property. Their continued partnership plays a major role in helping us provide realistic, hands-on training.

Training was cut short when crews responded to a rollover crash on Interstate 83, putting those skills to work when they were needed most.
