Latest life updates:
All has been good! We have been busy with work, enjoying the holidays and living life!

Ryan is now only having transplant clinic about every 3 months with monthly labs! Everything has been good! Numbers look good and he is feeling great! Meds are starting to settle without as many changes.

On another note Ryan was born with CHD. He just had his yearly appointment with his cardiologist. The echo was good - even better then last year!
What a praise!

We can hardly believe next month marks 1 year since transplant! We came from some of our darkest days to our best days.
This new life came at a cost. I personally think often of the donor and their family. I hope they find peace as the year mark comes - that their loved one was able to save another life.

We’ve been quiet this summer.
When Ryan asked his transplant nephrologist about when would he be able to fly and travel - the response was do it. This is WHY you had the transplant. Live life. Enjoy life.

That’s exactly what we have been doing. We went to races. Swimming. Day trips. Time with friends and family.

It has been one of the best summers.

Ryan has been good! Back to work full time. Labs are stable. He has been down to only needing to head to Rochester every other month now with labs being pushed to every 2 weeks. It’s all wins!

Everyday is a gift and living life like that!

Thursday night is pill box refill night!
This is all the reality of what keeps Ryan going! He has to take around 20 pills in the morning and 9 at night. Though it’s a lot to remember and balance its all for an amazing reason.

Many have been asking how things are going since they havent seen updates lately. Now that we are past the initial stuff with transplant each “update” doesn’t seem like as much for us.

Updates:

⚫️ Ryan is down to once a week clinic appointments of going to Rochester!! His doctor said he was close to every other week, even better! Still twice a week labs but they are allowing the other labs be done local.

⚫️ Labs have been stable, still monitoring for where they will deem him baseline labs will be but they have been staying stable

⚫️ Ryan’s most anxious thing of having a urethrel stent removed Is all done. All went well and was able to easily be done!

⚫️ The drain that was placed in his last admission has been removed!

⚫️ Ryan was cleared for outdoor events.. Ryan is one happy guy as we had tickets to the NASCAR Pocono race, we can use now!

Thank you all for caring so much for us and following along!

Today was a big day!

• Ryan has made a couple laps around the unit and was up to the chair for a chunk of the day

• The fluid in his abdomen did grow some bacteria - so waiting on cultures to figure out the right antibiotic to go home on

• Most exciting for the day was he got his dialysis cath removed!! He has had this since last summer!

Everyone is hopeful for discharge tomorrow or Friday!

Update: Ryan is out and back in his room. Surgery went well!

——————————————-
Ryan is off in the OR.

He had some fluid that developed from surgery in his abdomen. We have been told by many that it happens.

His was draining and has been but unfortunately it was closing off.

Today took a bit of a turn. Unfortunately Ryan had to be readmitted. The kidney is doing ok but will know more likely in the morning. We would appreciate positive thoughts and prayers.

They expected his numbers to be down in the 5s! Even better! Keep going little bean!
