The Tour des Trees is an annual long-distance cycling adventure which serves as the primary public outreach and community engagement event for Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund).

Since 1992, Tour des Trees riders have cycled through communities in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., planting trees, educating children and the public, and shining a light on the work done by arboriculture professionals and the importance of science-based tree care.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make our PennDel Tree Climbing Championship an overwhelming success!

First we’d like to thank our site! The Drake Well Museum and Park was an ideal setting for this event. Go check it out if you haven’t been there yet!

Next we’d like to thank our SPONSORS! Resources are required to make this event happen, and the sponsors came through in a big way! This year’s sponsors include:

Kemp Tree Service
Executive Tree Care
Custom Climber Services
The Craneman, Inc.
Riggs Tree Service
J Thomas Tree Service
Flagship Equipment
Arbsession
WesSpur
Shriener Tree Care
John B. Ward & Co.
ArborMaster
Mountain Arborist
Hamm’s ArborCare Inc.
Willow Tree and Landscaping
Sav A Tree
Bartlett Tree Experts
The Davey Tree Expert Company

We can’t thank the sponsors enough for everything they do to help us put on this event!

Next we’d like to thank the competitors! We had a great group of competitors this year, and everyone conducted themselves in a safe and professional way. We even had 9 first-time apprentice competitors this year! THANK YOU COMPETITORS! And congratulations to our champions, Jennifer and Derrick! Good luck at ITCC!

Big thanks to our Executive Director, Dave Ruyak, for doing the behind-the-scenes work that makes this event possible. Dave puts in tons of hours this time of year to make sure things run smoothly and accurately. Kudos and thanks to Dave!

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the VOLUNTEERS! Most of what gets done at this event (and in the 12 months prior to prepare for it) is all done by volunteers. All the judges, technicians, timers, planning, set up, tear down, that is all done by volunteers who want to provide a SAFE and FUN competition to YOU! Thank you to all the volunteers, and especially Glenn Riggs and Arch Autenreith, the Co-chairs of the committee.

And a special THANK YOU to the volunteers from New Jersey! We can’t thank you all enough for making the trip, and helping support our climbers here in Delaware and Pennsylvania! We appreciate and value your friendship.

Again, thank you to all the volunteers, competitors, and sponsors. And thanks to Drake Well Museum for hosting us.

See you all next year!
