We need food donations for our gaggles of tail wagglers.

We are at PetSmart in Elmwood (1000
s. Clearview Pkwy, New Orleans) until 4 PM today and Petsmart in Denham (10129 Crossing Wy #450, Denham Springs) until 3pm.

Stop by and say hi, or donate a bag of food from your couch! Just place a PetSmart pickup order at either location, put it under "Rolling River Rescue" and let us know via messenger so a volunteer can pick it up!

We can use:
-Hills Science Diet Large Breed Adult Food
-Purina One (adult or puppy)
-Sam’s or Costco brand food

Maisie’s family was tragically killed when they went on vacation this summer. At least, that’s the only explanation we can imagine for asking us to watch her and then never answering our calls about when they were going to pick her up… over a month ago. They brought her to the beach, celebrated her first birthday, appeared to love her, but left her to live most of her life in a kennel with no family when they passed.

Maisie LOVES car rides and her morning walk, especially if it ends with a pup cup. She’s gentle, patient, and wonderful with kids and cats, making her the perfect family companion.

She takes a while to warm up in new places, but once she feels safe, she walks with confidence like she owns the street. Around new dogs, she gets excited and playful, she thrives at the dog park!

Maisie is well-trained, crate-trained, and can comfortably stay home for up to 8 hours. She has excellent manners: waits for her food command, sticks to her feeding schedule, and rarely has accidents.

She enjoys healthy snacks like raw carrots and broccoli, rides great on long road trips, and sleeps peacefully either in her crate or on her own bed.

She was originally one of the highway puppies, found on the highway in Mississippi. Two of her siblings have never found homes: Chester and Boone, but Maisie found one and was dumped for a second time. She is a 1.5 yr old pit mix.

Our featured pups in need of adoption and/or foster today:

Their owner fell terribly ill and the place they were living is uninhabitable. They are still living there despite deplorable conditions and need out NOW. Pookie (the little one) is a 14 year old male. Tinkerbell (the white one) is a 3 year old female.

They're good with cats, dogs, people and kids. Very loving and sweet dogs. They walk on a leash. Apply to foster or adopt at Rrrrescue.org. They are not safe until they have a foster home.

🐶 Dog Friendly | Great with People | Kennel Trained | Easygoing | Loves to Play

Rainy is such a good girl and really doesn't get any attention. She has been with us over 2 years now.

She does great with other dogs. She's a Boxer/Lab mix who is Housetrained and Kennel trained.

Rainy was dropped off at the shelter she was adopted from as a puppy after 5 years in a home. A family member of the original owner took her in, but despite being raised with cats, she changed her mind about them and can no longer live with them. So we took her in and plan to find her the perfect forever home! She is an absolute lovebug, she loves to play, loves to snuggle and has the softest fur.

Sunday Pupdates:

We had a decent week. Both Ricochet and Yahoo are still in their homes from last weekend's adoption event. The little deaf puppy, Kermit, that we took in last week broke with kennel cough, but is doing great with some quality vet care. Arabella had a good visit with a potential adopter Friday, and Colter and Sol went on sleepovers on Saturday.

A fabulous potential adopter from Maine put in a stellar adoption application for Arlo, a dog that was urgent at Acadia Parish Shelter, so we pulled he and a sweet Pyrenees girl that was also urgent. We're calling her Lilia.

The shelter said Arlo was great with other dogs, and he's tried to eat every dog he's met so far, so we're hoping with time he settles down, before his trip to Maine has to be canceled. Fingers crossed he just needs some decompression time.
