Our Cans For Kids trailer is in a new location in the parking lot next to C&E Mini Market. It has new signs thanks to Kelly Bromeland, Terry Hanson, and Winnebago Mfg.
We collect aluminum cans and use this money for events like Horse and Buggy Day, Halloween free supper, and Santa Day.

As a member of ECC I would like to personally share some info about ECC. Everything we do is voluntary. On a good day there are 10 committee members, some who work full time jobs.

Santa Day prep includes all the baking done by us, shopping for all the ingredients and prizes, setting up and taking down tables and chairs, transporting all supplies there and back to our storage space. Cleaning the kitchen and the dining hall after everyone leaves. Numerous hours are put into this 3 hour event in which everyone receives a free breakfast, a free gift and blankets for the kids.

It is very discouraging to hear comments that the toy selection was not liked, someone wanted a different blanket than what they were given. This brought up the discussion amongst us, is this something we want to continue doing?

I saw many smiles and heard kids say thank you. Our goal is to bring the community together and spread some holiday cheer 🎅🏻

ECC meets the 2nd Tuesday at the library's back room at 6:30. Meetings are open to anyone. Feel free to come to a meeting.

We are getting ready for Santa Day on Saturday and if you are willing, we could really use your help!
We will be at the Methodist Church on Thursday starting at 2:00. There are truffles to dip, cookies and cakes to bake, cut out cookies to decorate. It will be a warm spot on a cold day!
Then Friday night at 5:30 pm we will be at Heartland to get things set up for Saturday.
