Today, our hearts are broken.
Today, one of the women who stayed at Ann's Heart Women's Shelter passed away while receiving hospice care. While we are grieving this loss, we are also grateful that she was surrounded by compassion, dignity, and love during her final days.
Before she passed, she was able to spend time with her son and her best friend. She was not alone. She was cared for, supported, and loved by those around her.
Moments like these remind us that shelter is about more than a bed. It is about creating a place where women can find safety, connection, and human dignity, especially during life's most difficult chapters.
Today we are holding her loved ones, our guests, volunteers, and staff in our thoughts as we mourn her loss and honor her memory.
With heavy hearts,
Ann's Heart Women's Shelter
