If other medical conditions present themselves while in our care, w

e address and treat them as well. MABTR prides itself on the ability to give commercial breeder (puppy mill) dogs a second chance at life. Adoptable dogs can be found at https://www.adoptaboston.com/adopt/available-dogs/

WELCOME IN WEDNESDAY!! MABTR debuts Gunner & Olivia!!
GUNNER is 9 YO whose owner could no longer care for him. He is house trained & eligible for our Golden Paws savings program. I'm the perfect sized cuddle companion at 13 lbs. I have a luxating patella on right back leg that I have had for since birth but it doesn't in any way hinder my ability to get around and run and play. I also have an eye that was injured at some time and have no vision out of it but my other eye is fine. I can do anything any other Boston can do. I love playing with my toys and can entertain myself for hours at a time. I am really active for my age and can hang with my much younger foster brother and sister. But when I do get tired get ready because I expect to be cuddled endlessly. Then you can listen to me snore peacefully for the rest of the evening. Currently I sleep in my crate in same room as foster brother and sister but I probably could be convinced to join you in bed if you insist.

OLIVIA is 4 YO breeder release. She is house trained. I am a very sweet girl. I love to give kisses and be pet. I also have the cutest little tail that wags when I'm happy to see you. I am a little shy, but I'm friendly with all humans, even children. I am very inquisitive and like to look around and find your towel or sock and move them to a better spot. I love hard chew toys and steal all of them. I get along with my 3 active dog friends. I do not wrestle or play, but it does look fun. I don't mind cats or chase them. I am calm in the house and sleep in a dog bed and watch the busy household during the day. I finally realized I like to sleep in dog beds rather than the cold floor of a kennel. I don't mind being kenneled at night or when you are gone, but I love to be out with you to follow you around when you're home. I can not walk up or down the tall stairs inside the house yet. I figured out how to use the deck stairs after about a week. But, I can not jump or get on furniture. I will fall off a bed or couch if you put me on it. I get carried upstairs and downstairs at night for bed. I potty outside and have only had one accident, probably because I wasn't let outside soon enough. I don't know how to walk on a leash yet. And I would love dog friends.

Today is World Pet Memorial Day held annually on the second Tuesday in June, this day is dedicated to remembering and honoring beloved pets that have passed away. It offers a moment to celebrate the joy and companionship pets brought into our lives.

The hardest drive isn't going to the vet...it's coming back home with only their collar in your hand.

That empty seat beside you feels heavier than anything you've ever carried. The quiet is different now. Even the sound of their tag, once full of life, now feels like a goodbye you weren't ready for.

Because we don't just lose a pet...we lose a piece of our everyday. The footsteps behind us. The presence that filled the room. A kind of love that never asked for anything except to be close.

If you've ever taken that drive, just know this--you're not alone. The pain you feel is only there because the love was real....and it still is. πŸΎπŸ’”
