𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘: 𝗗𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

The Madison Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on the city's north side.

Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Calypso Rd. around 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Multiple people called to report hearing gunshots outside an apartment building.

Officers arrived and found a 21-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a car. Officers began treating his injuries and he was taken to the hospital where he ultimately passed away.

Multiple shell casings were recovered in the road.

An adult passenger inside the vehicle was not injured. A bullet entered an apartment in the area, coming within inches of hitting someone inside watching TV. Crime Response is assisting both of these victims.

The Violent Crime Unit is leading this investigation. Detectives were able to identify two persons of interest in this shooting. A search warrant related to this shooting was executed at an apartment on Brentwood Parkway. Both men were taken into custody on separate charges as this investigation continues.

More information will be released when it will not comprise this investigation.

BIG BEND, WI — The Big Bend Police Department is actively seeking information and assistance from the public regarding an ongoing investigation.

Investigating officers are asking to speak with anyone who was a patron at Papa Stache Pub & Eatery, located at W228S9300 Big Bend Dr, Big Bend, WI, on Friday, July 17, 2026, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM

Police are interested in gathering statements or observations from individuals who were present inside or immediately outside the establishment during this timeframe. Any detail, regardless of how minor it may seem, could be helpful to investigators.
