Sometimes the best reminder of why we do camp comes straight from our campers. ❤️

When asked, “In what ways have you felt WAKCL (Welcomed, Accepted, Known, Celebrated, Loved)?” this summer, their answers reminded us that the little things really do matter. And when asked how much they want to return to camp…well, let’s just say they made their answer very clear. 🥹💚

We are so grateful for a summer filled with moments where campers felt WAKCL and we can’t wait to welcome them back! ⛺️✨

A new school year is just around the corner (or may have already started!)

Today, we’re praying over students, teachers, and all the backpacks that will be carried into classrooms this year. May each backpack be a reminder that God’s love goes with us wherever we go and that we are surrounded by a community that supports, encourages, and cares for us.

🎉 WE HAVE A NEW RECORD! 🎉

Our 2026 Quilt Auction raised an incredible $75,953.48 for Lutherdale! 🧵❤️

That’s our highest Quilt Auction total ever, and we are absolutely blown away by the generosity of this community.

Every quilt donated, every bid placed, every volunteer hour, and every person who showed up helped make this possible.

And most importantly, these dollars help make Lutherdale a place where people are Welcomed, Accepted, Known, Celebrated, and Loved.

Thank you for believing in Lutherdale and investing in the ministry that happens here. We couldn’t do it without you!

It was a privilege and honor to host Burn Camp this year at Lutherdale, and we can’t wait for next year!

From the moment campers arrived until the closing celebration, Burn Camp’s first summer at Lutherdale created new opportunities for adventure, connection, healing, and fun. Lutherdale proved to be a welcoming new home for the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation’s Burn Camp. Our first year at the Elkhorn property brought new surroundings and opportunities while preserving the friendships, traditions, and sense of belonging that have defined Burn Camp for more than three decades. The successful move to Lutherdale was possible because of an extraordinary team. We are grateful to the firefighters, counselors, medical professionals, volunteers, fire departments, community partners, donors, and families whose time and support made the week possible. Every meal served, activity led, ride provided, and encouraging conversation contributed to the experience. Our first summer at Lutherdale reminded us that Burn Camp is more than a location. It is a community built around fun, friendship, support, healing, and belonging. Lutherdale gave that community room to grow, and we look forward to building on this successful first year.

To our incredible summer staff: thank you. Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, belaying, ice breaker games, polar plunges, deep conversations, campfire songs, endless energy, and all the little moments that made this summer so special.

You welcomed campers, made them feel known and loved, encouraged them to try new things, and helped create the kind of community that makes Lutherdale feel like home. The impact you had on campers (and on each other) will last far beyond these summer weeks.

We are so grateful for every one of you and all that you brought to this place. 💛
