Local author, Sandra Proudman, will be at A Seat at the Table Books on October 25 to launch her novel, The End of Us. Our very own Bookstore Cryptid and Buyer, Arden, will be moderating a conversation with Proudman about her writing process and you will have the chance to ask your questions and get your copy signed. Come grab a tea or coffee from our cafe and support a local author!

Is your TBR getting too piled up? Is the world too loud and frantic? Are you craving quiet, peaceful time in community? You NEED to attend ASATTCI's next Bookstore Cats Fireside Reading!
Join Abby Moreno, who is the beloved host of Tea & Tales and storytimes as well, on November 16 at 7pm to curl up and read by our electric fireplace. We'll enter in silence, grab some provided snacks, and read for about 45 minutes before (optionally) socializing a bit on our way out the door. This gathering is limited to 20 people to keep it quiet and intimate.

Crafters! Assemble! Our most recent Crafternoon with Amanda was such a blast. We got to paint spooky scenes, sip on some root b**r floats, and yap about our crafting endeavors with new friends. These events make us so thankful to be a community space; it is truly so special seeing the connections that are made at our table. Join us on every second Tuesday of the month for Crafternoon. 🖌️

Blue Ribbon Day by Shea Robinson 🍦

Join us on November 7 for Sweet Sweet Fantasy Day! In the morning, start off right with VIP Cookies and Coffee, and then stick around through the day to get on-the-spot poetry from our store manager, Shea, sweet treats from Heather, and flowers from Kean Saetern Lazaro . Erika Lynn will then be launching her newest novel and holding a Q&A! Our store members will be thanked for their support in the evening with a members-only paint and sip event. 🥰

BIG NEWS: In partnership with ASATTCI, we are officially the FIRST KultureCity Certified Sensory-Inclusive Venue in Elk Grove! Thank you to the hard work of our nonprofit partner's volunteers, to KultureCity for its accessible and educational training, and to KultureCity's team for making this Social Story using photos of our space. And you can now request a KultureCity sensory bag any time you need to.

We had a joyful and meaningful time at our last Community Social for q***r kids (ages 12 and under) and their grownups! On Nov 15 and every third Sunday of the month at 5, join ASATTCI, Qmunity EGUMC, Rainbow Families Sacramento, and Central Valley Pride for an uplifting and connective gathering at Elk Grove's indie bookstore. We'll provide experienced hosts for each group, along with drinks and activities, and will have a safety plan in place. ⁠
🏳️‍🌈 Ages 8 & under: We'll offer a storytime, coloring, & activities in the play area.⁠
🏳️‍🌈 Ages 9-12: Our leader will support pr***en connection through intentionally selected games and activities in our side bar area, which offers some privacy.⁠
🏳️‍🌈 Parents/Caregivers: A fellow parent of a q***r kid will guide discussion, peer support, and resource sharing.⁠

Spooky Szn Weekend was a success! From our Zine-Writing Workshop, Spooky Open Mic Night, and Halloween vendors and readers to our Storytime and Family Friendly Drag show, we have been BUSY. Every single one of these events had much love and thought put in and are so important in helping folks of all ages and identities know themselves better. Little ones dressed up and got the chance to trick-or-treat at our register and adults enjoyed sipping on our Get Batty specialty cocktail while browsing the shelves. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us to be your space to celebrate and have fun, your business is truly the reason we can make these community events happen. Happy Spooky Szn! 🎃👻
