Our nonprofit partner, ASATTCI, hosts a free and inclusive storytime every Sunday at noon! On Sept 20, author Theresa Saechao Rother will share two of her books with us. RSVP on our website so we can plan for our audience!
About the author: Theresa grew up in Sacramento, California. A proud graduate of Sac State, she is passionate about education, community involvement, and preserving her Iu Mien culture through storytelling. Inspired by her cultural heritage, family traditions, and stories shared by her father, Theresa writes and self-publishes stories that celebrate imagination, diversity, and cultural pride. Theresa also enjoys cooking homemade meals, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with her children.

Emyly will moderate a discussion surrounding Latinx voices in fiction writing, and you'll have the opportunity to ask these writers questions about their work!

Our host, Jason Denzel, is a traditionally-published author of epic fantasy stories including The Mystic Trilogy from Tor Books. He's also the founder of a popular Wheel of Time fan community and a long-time resident of Elk Grove.

October's cohost, Georgine Hodgkinson, is a professor of communication studies at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, where she also served as program coordinator for Re-Emerging Scholars, a program for formerly incarcerated students. Her published scholarship includes book chapters, journal articles, and essays exploring politics, gender, and spirituality.

Join us at 5:30 to grab a drink from the cafe and chat with the author ahead of the discussion from 6-7pm.
