Elk Grove Masonic Lodge #173 Elk Grove Lodge #173 is a place for family, friendship, and community. There’s a place for everyone—ask us about Freemasonry!

Since 1864, we’ve welcomed all generations—with programs for youth and support for families. Freemasonry is a Brotherhood of Men under the Fatherhood of God, charged with the mission of identifying good men and giving them the opportunities and resources to become better men. One of Masonry's founding and guiding principles is relief. To give of one's self to help another is one of life's highest attainments. Relief comes in many forms — it could simply be helping a brother in need, or coming to the aid of a widow or an orphan. The family of Freemasonry includes the local Lodges, together with an assortment of appendant and concordant bodies. There are Masonic organizations for youth and for the female relatives of Masons. There are educational organizations, social organizations, service organizations, and honorary organizations.

The great thing about living in Elk Grove and being part of a nonprofit is that we can support one another while working toward a common goal. We truly love our community!

Worshipful Kerry and Brother Carl were spotted out in the wild at the Elk Grove Lions Club Carnitas Feed! If you didn’t go this year, you definitely missed out, and I sure hope you make it next year.

It was a great night of networking, fellowship, good food, and supporting another local organization that does so much for our community.

That’s what we love about Elk Grove — nonprofits, community organizations, and volunteers coming together to support one another.

So let’s keep that spirit going and come together to support the Elk Grove Kiwanis Club at their Wh***ey & W**e event coming up November 7! Another amazing non profit that does so much for our community.

When our local organizations support one another, everybody wins. That’s what community is all about!

EVER WONDER WHAT THE ELK GROVE LIONS ACTUALLY DO WITH THE MONEY WE RAISE?

Well, we don’t spend it all on bacon, pancakes, and questionable cooking equipment.

Although some of our Lions might argue that’s a worthwhile investment.

The money we raise helps us support local schools, provide scholarships, assist families, cook for community organizations, support youth programs, and step up when our community needs a helping hand.

That’s why we’re asking for your support this Saturday.

We know money is tight. We’re feeling it too. But when fundraising slows down, so does our ability to help others.

Our Carnitas Fundraiser is one of the ways we keep that support going.

And we’re only THREE DAYS AWAY!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 | 6 PM
Elk Grove Park Pavilion

$45 per person | $340 for a table of 8

Carnitas, cash bar, silent auctions, dessert auctions, and our infamous Chicken Drop Bingo!

If you’ve already purchased tickets, THANK YOU!

If you can’t attend, please share this with someone who might.

The more support we receive, the more support we can give back to Elk Grove. It’s really that simple.

A few more moments from a fabulous day!

Our friends over at Visions In Motion ADP were kind enough to share some additional photos with us from their 3rd Annual Walkathon on October 10, and we’re happy to share a few more highlights!

Elk Grove Lodge No. 173 and Elk Grove Onisbo Chapter No. 109, Order of the Eastern Star, were proud to join together as joint sponsors of this wonderful event and support the great work Visions in Motion is doing in our community.

Pictured in the first photo are Senior Warden Robin (PM), Senior Steward Kerry (PM), Rainbow Girl Karlee, and Eastern Star Jaime, representing our local Masonic family.

If you haven’t checked out all the great things Visions in Motion is doing, head over to their website and learn more!

Congratulations to Sister Suzanne, the Worthy Matron of Elk Grove Onisbo Chapter No. 109, Order of the Eastern Star, on her installation as Grand Esther at the Grand Chapter of California this weekend!

It was wonderful to see some familiar faces from the Elk Grove Masonic family and beyond out in the wild at Grand Chapter. Worshipful Mauro was in attendance, and Worshipful Kerry served on the Safety Committee.

We also spotted Worshipful Michael Roberts, Manager of Membership and New Lodge Development for the Grand Lodge of California, serving as a Grand Guard. While Michael isn’t a member of Elk Grove Lodge No. 173, he is certainly a familiar face within our larger Masonic family. Service in action!

The final session featured a wonderful ceremony presented by the Masonic youth organizations: California International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, CA Job’s Daughters International, and Northern California and Southern California DeMolay. All three organizations did an outstanding job, and their participation was a beautiful reminder that the future of our Masonic family is bright. With young people like these carrying forward the values of service, leadership, friendship, and character, the future is in very good hands.

It was a fabulous weekend filled with fellowship, service, and connections across the Masonic family. Events like this are a great reminder that while we may serve in different places and different capacities, we’re all part of something much bigger.

Congratulations again to the Worthy Matron on this wonderful honor!

ELK GROVE! WE NEED TO TALK.

We’re officially 10 DAYS away from our annual Carnitas Fundraiser, and some of you are still acting like you’ve got all the time in the world.

You don’t.

We’ve got carnitas to prepare, a bar to stock, desserts to auction, margaritas to make, and a chicken that’s apparently been training for its big moment in Chicken Drop Bingo.

But here’s the thing… WE NEED YOU THERE!

Every ticket helps the Elk Grove Lions continue supporting our schools, local organizations, and neighbors who need a helping hand.
