Actually, we think we know. You’re joining us for the Elk Grove Lions Carnitas Festival at the Elk Grove Park Pavilion!

Why? Because we’re bringing together amazing food, an amazing community, great people—and YOU. And rumor has it, we may have some pretty cool raffle prizes up for grabs this year, too!

Two days, three events, and yes, we survived. Wednesday morning, your friendly neighborhood Lions flipped pancakes for the Elk Grove FFA staff and students. And then today, we rolled straight into a chicken feed for FFA and cooked up a storm for the Elk Grove Band. It was hot, chaotic, and full of questionable cooks but the only thing burning hotter than the grills was our community spirit. Huge thanks to everyone!

WE’RE NOT SURE WHAT WE’RE DOING… BUT APPARENTLY PEOPLE KEEP JOINING.

Please welcome the newest member of the fun and slightly crazy Elk Grove Lions Club — Lion James Dean!

James decided today that hanging around with a bunch of people who wake up way too early to flip pancakes, burn a few burgers, cook for half of Elk Grove, and somehow call all of this “fun” sounded like a pretty good idea.

Clearly, his judgment is questionable.

But we’re excited to have him!

James, welcome to the Elk Grove Lions Club. We’re looking forward to serving the Elk Grove community alongside you, having a lot of laughs, and teaching you the most important Lions Club skill of all:

If you burn the food, just call it “extra flavor.”

We’ve got three bartenders trying desperately to keep up, questionable bartending skills, and somehow… amazing drinks.
