A reminder that this Saturday's Pancake Breakfast Club features biscuits and gravy.

Our creamer game is now respectable, but only because all of you stepped in and saved us from ourselves.

The coffee is excellent. The cooks are trying their best.

Cooking and bartending are just part of our repertoire. Lion Anthony Dapelo, Robert Shipley, and Greg Neill recently showcased their DIY prowess by revamping one of our trailers. They tore out the old shelf and constructed superior new ones, adding thoughtful brackets for accessibility. It's clear these guys have a talent for building, - one that far surpasses their pancake-cooking skills. We all know the Lions coffee keeps them going. Although the process was marked by a few mishaps, including some bruised egos and door frames, that resulted in many swear words, the end result was well worth it. They built some fantastic shelves and enjoyed the experience. All about serving others. Anthony Dapelo Robert Shipley Greg Neill

Pancake Breakfast Club members…

Just a reminder that we’re back on June 13 from 8-10 a.m.

We’ll have pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and the best coffee in Elk Grove.

Thanks to all of you, our creamer game no longer sucks.

Come hungry, bring a friend, and help us see if we can run out of coffee again.

The Lions will be ready. The kitchen crew is still questionable.

Big night at the Elk Grove Lions meeting tonight.

First off, Lion Greg Neill was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award. Apparently all the questionable cooking, sarcastic social media posts, coffee consumption, random running around, and showing up to every event finally counted for something. Shocking to everyone involved.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is one of the highest honors in Lions Clubs International, recognizing dedication to humanitarian service and community impact. So naturally… Greg responded the only way possible by probably making awkward jokes and immediately getting back to work.

We also officially welcomed new member Larry Vice into the Elk Grove Lions Club tonight. Larry may not fully understand what he signed up for yet, but we’re excited to have another volunteer ready to help serve the community, cook food, haul trailers, work long events, and survive second Mondays with the rest of us.

Another great night for the Elk Grove Lions. Serving the community, building friendships, and planning the next PBC meeting.

Today, the Elk Grove Lions social media director received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.

Yes… THAT social media director. The one responsible for questionable posts, unnecessary snark, mild harassment of the kitchen crew, and reminding all of you weekly that our coffee is better than your coffee, now now because of y'all our creamer game doesn't suck.

For those that don’t know, the Melvin Jones Fellowship is one of the highest honors in Lionism, recognizing dedication to humanitarian service and support of the Lions Clubs International Foundation.

Apparently someone overlooked the fact that most of his service involves sarcasm, grilling meat, and making fun and having fun with our fellow Lions on Facebook.

He was completely overwhelmed and speechless during the presentation and honored beyond belief.

In all seriousness, he is incredibly honored, deeply humbled, and thankful to serve alongside an amazing group of Lions who continue showing up for this community over and over again.

Now please allow him at least 24 hours to let this award go to his head before the kitchen crew brings him back down to earth.

Hey y'all, it's me, Greg. I am completely honored and humbled by this award. I love serving this community, working with my fellow Lions, and having fun. I promise to keep the posts shorter (thanks for the information) for now on..... but the snarkiness will continue.

Another one has officially joined the ranks of Elk Grove Lions Club.

Today we welcomed Larry Vice to the Elk Grove Lions and, more importantly, added another person to the cooking crew / member of chaos. At this point we’re not even sure if he fully understood what he was signing up for, but it’s too late now.

Larry has officially sacrificed his second Saturday of the month, countless hours around the BBQ trailer, standing over hot grills, cleaning up after events, and helping serve the community. Somewhere in the fine print it probably should have mentioned smoke, sweat, and the mysterious ability for Lions events to somehow last longer than expected.

The good news is he’ll get to help a lot of people. The bad news, there is none. More caffeinated Lions, more controlled chaos.

Larry, welcome to the club. Your apron assignment is probably already being discussed.
