The Elk Grove Food Bank was honored to welcome Congresswoman Doris Matsui back to our campus today as she continues her longstanding support and advocacy for local families facing food insecurity throughout the Sacramento region.

Congresswoman Matsui has been a dedicated supporter of the Elk Grove Food Bank and our mission to serve vulnerable individuals, seniors, children, and families throughout the community. Her continued engagement highlights the critical importance of addressing hunger and supporting organizations working on the front lines to meet growing community needs.

Joining Congresswoman Matsui during the visit were (left to right): Elk Grove Food Bank Board Members Larry Sahota, Dr. Suman Singha, Melissa Ibrahim, and Betty Hall; Executive Director Marie Jachino; Jesus Tarango, Jr., Chairman of the Wilton Rancheria; Wilton Rancheria Board Member Annette Williams; Elk Grove Vice Mayor Darren Suen; Elk Grove Councilmember Rod Brewer; and Wilton Rancheria Board Members Leia Ahuactzin and Spencer Hosson.

During the visit, community leaders saw firsthand the increasing demand for food assistance and essential support services across the region.

The visit also provided an opportunity for our Executive Director to personally thank the leadership of Wilton Rancheria for their generous support through the Wilton Rancheria Charity Golf Tournament held earlier this month. Their ongoing partnership and commitment to the community continue to make a meaningful impact on the families and individuals we serve each day.

We are deeply grateful for Congresswoman Matsui’s continued advocacy, as well as the collaboration and partnership of local elected officials and tribal leaders who remain committed to strengthening the community safety net and ensuring no one in our community faces hunger alone.

We are incredibly honored and grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of proceeds from today’s 3rd Annual Wilton Rancheria Charity Golf Tournament. ⛳💛

This amazingly generous contribution from Wilton Rancheria and Sky River Casino will help the Elk Grove Food Bank continue serving thousands of local families, seniors, veterans, and children experiencing food insecurity throughout our community.

As Big Day of Giving comes to a close tonight, we’re asking our community to help us finish strong. ❤️

Every day at Elk Grove Food Bank Services, we meet people carrying burdens they never expected:
• Seniors living on fixed incomes
• Parents stretching meals for their children
• Neighbors recovering from job loss, illness, or hardship

And every day, this community shows up for them.

That’s what today is about.
Not just donations.
Not just numbers.
People helping people.

If you’ve already donated — thank you.
If you’ve shared our mission — thank you.
If you’re still considering giving — there’s still time.

✨ Your donation today helps provide food, compassion, and hope to thousands in our community.

A few dollars may not feel life-changing. But to someone skipping meals? It absolutely is.

👉 We’re halfway through Big Day of Giving — and the need has never slowed down.

But neither has this community. ❤️

Every donation to Elk Grove Food Bank Services helps put food on tables for local families and seniors facing impossible choices between groceries, rent, medicine, and utilities.

A few dollars may not feel life-changing.
But to someone skipping meals?
It absolutely is.

✨ Don’t forget: Nugget Markets is helping your generosity go even further with $2,500 in matching funds!

If you’ve been meaning to donate, now’s the time.
