IAM Local 1726 BOS recently held a Back-to-School Drive as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities where our members live and work.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, school supplies and other essential items were collected and donated to HELPIS, a local organization that works with schools, families, and community groups to support children and families in need.

Community service has long been an important part of the IAM tradition. Our union is built on solidarity, and that spirit goes beyond the workplace. Whether supporting local families, helping students start the school year prepared, or stepping up when our communities need us, IAM members continue to show what it means to stand together.

A special thank you to Theresa Santullo, UA Customer Service, for helping deliver the donated items, and to everyone who contributed to making the drive a success.

IAM District 141 Safety Coordinator Stanley Martinez, along with District Educators Rene Burgess and Tony Parker, recently conducted GSAP classes in ORD, with a strong turnout from both the JL and JG membership.

GSAP training plays an important role in giving our members the knowledge and resources they need to recognize safety concerns, understand reporting procedures, and help maintain a safer workplace for everyone. Continuing to educate our membership strengthens our ability to address issues before they become larger problems and reinforces the importance of safety on the job.

Thank you to all of the members who took the time to attend and participate. A special thank you to AGC Joe Bartz and ORD Committee Person Chris Olmsted for their support throughout the classes.

IAM District 141 AGC Troy Rivera visited our members in Sacramento for a station visit, taking time to answer site specific questions, hear directly from the membership, and discuss issues important to the station.

Station visits are an important part of staying connected with our members and making sure they have the information and support they need. These face-to-face conversations help strengthen communication, build solidarity, and give members the opportunity to raise questions and concerns directly with their representatives.

The visit wrapped up with a potluck dinner, giving everyone a chance to spend some time together outside of the day to day work environment.

Thank you to all of our SAC members who came out, asked questions, brought food, and helped make the visit a great one.

The IAM District 141/142 Joint Education Summit was a great success!

Attendees came together to learn, share ideas, and strengthen the skills needed to better serve our Brothers and Sisters on the floor. Educators gained valuable tools, techniques, and strategies to become stronger advocates in the workplace, while also learning more about the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence and how we can prepare, protect, and fight for our members as technology continues to change the workplace.

A stronger union starts with members who feel safe, respected, represented, and heard. ✈️

Day 3 of the IAM District 141 United Airlines Reservations Summit at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center continued with conversations centered on the people who make our union strong.

District 141 AGC Erik Stenberg, Director of Safety Bill Salo, and Safety Coordinators Leroy Taylor and Joey Dee engaged Reservations representatives in discussions about workplace safety, member awareness, and the importance of looking out for one another on the job.

IAM Women’s Rights Director Dee Colbert and IAM Human Rights Director Nicole Fears continued the day with meaningful conversations about representation, inclusion, dignity, and ensuring every member has a voice within our union.

Each session gives our representatives more than information—it provides knowledge, resources, and connections they can take back to their workplaces to better serve and support their fellow members.

IAM District 141 AGC Troy Rivera spent time in DEN meeting with United Airlines Storekeepers, along with DEN Stores Committee woman Amber Larimer, to answer questions and hear concerns specific to their work location.

What better way to connect with our union brothers and sisters than by breaking bread together? Sharing a meal creates a relaxed setting for open and honest conversations about the issues that matter most to our members.

Strong representation starts with showing up, listening, and staying connected.
