A big thank you to Educational Equity & Excellence Collaborative at Rutgers🎓 for coordinating college visits for first-generation Make the Road New Jersey 🦋 youth! This summer, more than 100 students participated in our Summer Institute. Our Student Success Center will reopen for the academic year on September 21st - join us for our annual college and scholarship fair!

This year, in the midst of so much pain and violence, more than 950 Make the Road New Jersey 🦋 members took to the the streets to demand safe communities, homes, and workplaces. We wrapped the Million Voter Project and realized the largest civic engagement program in state history, contacting more than 690,000 voters who sat out in 2024 and brought them into our campaign work and that of dozens of others across the state.

Este año, en medio de tanto dolor y violencia, más de 950 miembros de Make the Road New Jersey 🦋 salieron a las calles para exigir comunidades, hogares y lugares de trabajo seguros. Concluimos el *Million Voter Project* y llevamos a cabo el programa de participación cívica más grande en la historia del estado, contactando a más de 690,000 votantes que no participaron en 2024 e incorporándolos en campañas y a la de decenas de otras organizaciones en todo el estado.

This summer, 29 New Jersey residents lost their lives as a result of extreme heat. We must protect workers — no one should work an 8-hour day in 99+ degree weather without access to shade, water, or breaks. Petition link in bio.

Este verano, 37 miembros de Make the Road New Jersey 🦋 se graduaron de nuestra Escuela de Liderazgo anual, donde aprenden la diferencia entre movilización y construcción de poder, diversos modelos de organización, cómo facilitar reuniones y lograr consensos, y cómo ganar la batalla de las grandes ideas. Felicidades a todos los graduados! Nos entusiasma comenzar un nuevo año con un comité de líderes en constante crecimiento!

‼️ In New Jersey, workers like Jon do not have basic work protections during extreme heat.

That means...
NO breaks
NO shade
NO water

That's why we are fighting for a 🔥 heat standard bill (A1995/S4137)🔥, so that New Jersey workers have these basic protections and so that the state establishes a heat illness prevention program.

Workers like Jon cannot wait!

NO WATER.. During the hottest times of the year!

That's why we're fighting for the 🔥HEAT STANDARD BILL🔥 (A1995/S4137), which would require employers to supply these basic protections, and call on the state to establish an Occupational Heat-Related Illness and Injury Prevention Program.

New Jerseyans like Jon can't wait!
