The JEC comprises all aspects of Jewish religious life in the area of Elizabeth and its immediate surroundings, including the school, with over 850 students in its three divisions: Yeshiva of Elizabeth Elementary, Bruriah High School for Girls and the Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy for Boys; a kashrut certification; a Beit Din; several area synagogues; multiple mikvahs; and a community cemetery.

JEC Lower School students brought the lessons of Parshat Vayera to life through a special Hachnasas Orchim program! Inspired by Avraham Avinu, students in grades 1–5 welcomed guests from other grades, shared snacks, and learned Torah together, exploring the importance of Kavod, kindness, and sensitivity toward others.

Our Early Childhood students also joined in the mitzvah, welcoming Middle School boys into their classrooms, where the older students read stories to their younger friends! 💥

Our 5th graders are putting their engineering skills to the test! 🚀 As part of their STEM unit on the engineering design cycle, students built air trolleys and tested them on zip lines! They explored potential and kinetic energy while experimenting with different inclines, rubber band sizes, and twists to see how these variables impacted speed and distance. What an exciting way to bring science and engineering to life!

Math has never been so sweet! 🎂📏

The boys in 5B wrapped up their unit on Volume with a fun, hands-on project! Working in pairs, the boys transformed everyday household boxes into creative three-layer cakes!

Along the way, they sorted, measured in inches and centimeters, and calculated the total volume of their creations.

What a great way to bring math to life through teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving! 🍰📐

🌟 BAM: Be A Mentch! This month, JEC Lower School students are focusing on Kavod—Respect! Through stories, activities, and discussions, students explored how to show respect for themselves, others, and their surroundings.

We’re celebrating “Mentch Moments” by filling class BAM jars with stars and working toward exciting school-wide incentives! ⭐ 💥

Students from Nursery through fifth grade came together for a meaningful mitzvah project in honor of October 7th. Each student chose a mitzvah connected to אהבת ישראל to focus on this week, strengthening our commitment to unity, kindness, and caring for one another. 🇮🇱💙

Today, we commemorated October 7th with meaningful, age-appropriate programming centered on achdus, tefillah, and אהבת ישראל.

Our younger students reflected on the tremendous achdus of Klal Yisrael, while our 4th and 5th graders gathered for Tehillim, Acheinu, and the מי שברך לחיילים, followed by learning in small chaburas about strengthening אהבת ישראל through our daily actions.

Every student also took on a mitzvah connected to אהבת ישראל and created a puzzle piece for our communal mitzvah project—a reminder that each of us plays a part in strengthening Klal Yisrael. 🇮🇱💙

The girls in Kitah Daled had a very special התחלת נביא program today! 💙🇮🇱

In honor of beginning their journey of learning Sefer Yehoshua, Morah Weiss prepared a beautiful celebration. The girls decorated an edible map of Eretz Yisrael, created special Navi bookmarks, and spent time preparing for the exciting learning ahead.

We wish our Kitah Daled girls much הצלחה as they begin this special new chapter in their Torah learning! 📖✨
