Work is underway on the Veterans Memorial Phase II Project at Bucklin Park, including improvements to the park pond and its retaining walls.
Crews have begun draining the pond and will be conducting cleaning and maintenance activities over the next two weeks in preparation for the reconstruction of the pond's existing retaining walls. The pond will remain drained during construction to allow work to progress safely and efficiently.
To support local wildlife, a section of water will remain at the far west end of the pond for ducks and other animals that depend on the habitat. Staff will monitor water levels weekly throughout the project.
For public safety, the construction area surrounding the pond will be fenced off during the project.
Thank you for your patience as we continue making improvements to Bucklin Park.
