If you don't have plans this Saturday, September 12, and you enjoy spending time with nature, we'd love to have you join us from 9 a.m. to noon for a Restoration Day at our beautiful Richards Woods green space park. This beautiful, timbered 35-acre green space property was purchased by the City in 2021. It's near Schwarz Road and Marine Road (Illinois Route 143).
Volunteers are welcome to participate in restoration events as the City's Restoration Coordinator Tom Doyle tackles acres of green space in an effort to eliminate unwanted vegetation and encourage the growth of native trees and plants. Restoration Days are an ideal way to earn volunteer service hours and spend time outside. Typical activities include pulling and stacking unwanted growth. Volunteers are encouraged to bring yard work gloves and water to drink, and wear sturdy shoes. Park in the lot next to the trail on the Schwarz Road side.

We’re looking for dependable volunteers to drive our box trucks on Monday and/or Thursday evenings as we serve individuals and families in need throughout our communities in St. Louis and Alton, Illinois areas.

Do you have:

✅ A valid driver’s license?
✅ A good driving record?
✅ A heart to serve others?
✅ The ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.?

If you answered YES, we’d love to talk with you!

This is more than driving a truck. It’s delivering hope, compassion, food, clothing, and essential supplies to people who need them most. Every trip helps us reach lives with practical assistance and the love of Christ.
