Today’s Sandwich Saturday was a powerful reminder that kindness is alive and well. Before we started, I hosted a short workshop encouraging all our volunteers to keep cleaning their hearts and to continue serving to make a real impact on our community. I reminded everyone that love wins, love is power, and love overpowers hate—always. When we lead with love, no amount of darkness can stand in our way. ​Volunteers from all walks of life then stood shoulder to shoulder to fight hunger and injustice. We served hot halal fried chicken, macaroni salad with shrimp, seasoned rice, samosas, and baked goods tagged with messages of love. We also provided men, women and children clothes, toys, household items, and hygiene supplies, school supplies, school clothes for children, alongside handing out bikes to bring joy to local families. An anonymous donor also blessed us with several Amazon gift cards, which we passed out to six families with children today! ​The highlight of the day was seeing our neighbors come together, including a local homeless woman who walked up to me, hugged me with tears rolling down her eyes onto my shirt, and told me how much she loved me. That caught me off guard, but it truly made my day. Moments like that are exactly why we do this work and why we will never stop serving our community.♥️

Choose love over hate. Today, our world desperately needs hope, and that hope starts right here with us. Every day, families and individuals in our community face the quiet pain of hunger and homelessness, but together, we have the power to change their story. Joining Sandwich Saturday isn't just about giving your time it's about standing up for human dignity, spreading radical compassion, and proving that light will always conquer darkness. ​Across our TikTok and social media, hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world are watching what we do in awe. They are stunned and amazed to see people from every walk of life every race, background, religion, culture, political belief, rich or poor putting aside every disagreement to unite for a single purpose: serving humanity. They are seeing that unity is still possible, and that love can bridge any divide. ​We need your hands, your heart, and your support to keep our doors open and keep this vital mission alive. This summer has been particularly tough on our organization, but with your help, we are praying and pushing for a brighter fall and winter ahead.
​When: Tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:00 AM
​Where / Drop-Off Site: 207 Wyoming Street
​Action Plan: We will kick off with an empowering Compassion & Action Workshop, gather our energy, and head out to set up tables loaded with hundreds of essential items and meals for our food-insecure neighbors.

Tomorrow is "Sandwich Saturday"🥪, and our neighbors need your support today so we can be fully prepared!
🐶 Pet Food Drive: Over the past few months, we’ve seen a huge rise in requests for dog and cat food from local families and unsheltered individuals. We are officially bringing pet food back to our donation list! If you can chip in today, we’ll be purchasing food ahead of tomorrow’s event.
👟 Urgent Shoe Request: We are still searching for shoe donations for a beloved mother and her two sons who have autism:

1 pair of Women's Size 10 (for the mother)

As summer comes to a close, we step into the crisp turn of autumn and the quiet depth of winter with gratitude for the opportunities behind us. Over the summer, I’ve had the honor of speaking with team members and leaders at incredible organizations like Raymour & Flanigan, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wegmans, and several other local businesses and corporate offices on a simple yet transformative truth: Kindness is Key. Through sharing my personal journey through homelessness and poverty, we explored 7 practical ways to support those facing mental health struggles, housing insecurity, and hardship. The beautiful thing is that the impact didn't stop in the room right after our session, I took all the sandwiches and sack lunches they prepared straight out into the community to hand-deliver them to homeless individuals, families, and children in need.Seeing teams lean in with open hearts reminded me that there is still so much goodness in this world. To everyone who listened, welcomed me, and helped feed our neighbors: thank you. Let’s carry this warm energy forward into the colder months ahead.

Turn off the news. Put down the screens, take your kids by the hand, and step outside. ​We were never meant to carry the heavy weight of the entire world on our shoulders, but we are meant to lighten the load for those right in front of us. ​Breathe in the fresh air. Take a real break, then put that energy into action and join us at Sandwich Saturday 🥪 every Saturday: go volunteer, feed the homeless help a neighbor, protect every orphan or donate to a local charity. Real life, and real impact, happens offline. Donate. Be Kind. Clean your heart. ♥️
