💙 Our Team Has Returned from Meru, Kenya 💙
Our group of 15 travelers — made up of dedicated volunteers and some of our Hope Children’s Fund board members — have returned home after a two-week mission trip to Meru, Kenya.
We’re excited to share some photos highlighting just a few of the incredible moments from the trip. From loading two buses (and more kids than we could count!) for a safari adventure at Meru National Park, to sorting and distributing donations. Every day was filled with meaningful work and unforgettable experiences.
Our team also spent time planning projects for the home, the farm, and the greenhouses, which are an essential part of sustaining the children who live there. The Hope Children’s Fund property includes 10 acres of land with an additional 15 acres leased for farming, allowing the home to grow much of its own food.
When our group arrived, the maize harvest had just come in. Watching the process was incredible — the corn is dried, husked, and ground into cornmeal that becomes a staple food for the home. It takes tremendous effort and teamwork to bring in the harvest, and maize is just one of several crops planted throughout the year.
But more than anything, this trip reminded us that it’s all about the connections we make. The love that is shared and returned tenfold, the laughter, the support, and the commitment to this mission make every mile traveled worthwhile.
Our travelers came home tired but deeply grateful, carrying new friendships, powerful memories, and renewed passion for the work of Hope Children’s Fund.
This trip was truly worth it. 💙
Thank you to everyone who supports Hope Children’s Fund and helps make this work possible.
