⚠️ Important Update ⚠️

I need a camera person to film what I was trying to show y’all. This is what bumblefoot on a turkey looks like. Bumblefoot is an infection in the foot. It scabs over and can sometimes become necrotic if left untreated requiring amputation or leading to death. Our bumblefoot treatment is to soak their feet in a warm Epsom salt, betadine, and water solution for 15-20 minutes every few days. After the soak we gently pull at the infection to see if it’s loosened up enough to pull out. Then we put an antibiotic ointment (with NO added painkillers - these can be deadly for birds - so stay away from Neosporin + Pain Relief) a small bit of gauze and wrap with medical tape. We do this until the infection completely clears up - usually a ‘kernel’ comes out and leaves a small hole in the foot

We have several rabbits who are dreaming of a home living situation and we need your help to make their dreams come true! Like, comment, and share this post until we find their forever homes 🥰

1st Picture: Toast! Oh the wonderful things we could say about TOAST! Toast uses they/them pronouns because they’re an intersex rabbit! And oh my they are full of bounding energy and confidence! They are spunky and direct and really the ultimate q***r icon. We don’t know much about their history but they were found as a stray in June 2021. Toast needs room to run around and express themselves

2nd Picture: Angharad. Where Toast is spunky and agile, Ang is calm and introspective. Poor girl has been discarded and found herself at Animal Care & Control twice that we know of. At around 7 or 8 years old (best guess) she is looking for a nice quiet home to retire and a loving caregiver who will keep her this time 💕

3rd Picture: Capable. Capable was a mother before coming to the sanctuary and all her babies were adopted but nobody wanted her. She is a shy girl looking for a unique kind of person to develop a deep bond with. She will often pop her little paws onto my shoulder and burrow her head into my neck - an action that will just melt your heart. She is about 6-7 years old. Capable will nibble/nip to communicate sometimes and will not do well in a home with young kids.

(All adoptable rabbits have been spayed/neutered)

Never had a pet rabbit before? We are happy to show you all the things you need to know to support your new family member, so don’t let that stop you from adopting!

Just before this video was taken Bernie had the ZOOMIES. We were playing together and running around and dancing. Then we settled into the sunshine together and I took this video. Sometimes you just need to chill and vibe and sing with the goat 💖
