Our Senior population need the local community’s help!
During our community council meeting last night, there was a presentation and discussion on an issue ongoing at the Chugiak-Eagle River Senior Center that needs our help.
If you are so inclined to help support our local seniors, the Chugiak-Eagle River Senior Center needs our voices now more than ever. Chugiak Senior Citizens Inc. (CSCI) has provided essential affordable housing, reliable transportation, and food programs for over 50 years, and they are currently working to secure a crucial ground lease extension (AO 2026-133) to build and operate much-needed rental housing for the elderly.
The Eagle River and surrounding community councils strongly support our seniors and have already submitted formal letters of support or resolutions.
Public testimony before the Anchorage Assembly is scheduled for October 20th, and the more letters the Municipality receives, the better the chances that the center will get the assistance they need. Please ensure letters of support are submitted no later than October 14th by emailing them to [email protected] and the Anchorage Assembly at [email protected], or by dropping them off/mailing them to CSCI at 22424 N Birchwood Loop Road, Chugiak, AK 99567.
