Join the Chain Reaction Lake Cleanup at Lake Shipp Park — or clean up your favorite or nearby lake in Winter Haven! Every effort makes a difference for our beautiful Chain of Lakes City.

When: Saturday, November 14, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Where: Lake Shipp Park, 1649 Lake Shipp Drive
After your cleanup, drop off collected litter at the Lake Shipp Park bin.
Gloves, bags, and grabbers will be provided — just bring your lake-loving spirit!
Let’s create a powerful Chain Reaction to benefit our beautiful Winter Haven lakes!

🎃👻 Volunteers Needed for Trick-or-Treat Lane! 👻🎃

We’re looking for volunteers to help make our Trick-or-Treat Lane a fun and memorable event for everyone! 🍬🍭

Volunteers are needed to help with handing out treats, welcoming families, keeping the event running smoothly, and clean up after the event.

✨ Need community service hours? Community service hours are available for volunteers who need them, so this is a great opportunity to give back to the community while earning service hours!

Residential waste collection in unincorporated Polk County will be delayed by one day next week. There will be no residential collection on Monday, Sept. 7. Monday routes will be collected Tuesday, Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, and so on, with Friday routes collected on Saturday.

The Northeast Landfill Customer Convenience Center Program, the North Central Landfill and North Central Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day, and all three sites will re-open Tuesday, Sept. 8.

**The Adopt-A-Road & Adopt-A-Park Program are a great way to give back to your local community and memorialize a loved one, celebrate your business/church/community group or just to be a good environmental steward! These programs are available in unincorporated Polk County and now available in the City of Winter Haven and the City of Bartow!!**

Thank you for your patience and understanding.We will be posting another event soon, that one will be by pre- registration! Thank you for coming out and supporting our Free program!

We want to take a moment to thank our wonderful Waste Haulers and their staff who donate their services for the Clean It Up to Green It Up Curbside Program, Tire Collection Events and our Community Cleanup Programs! Without your support, we would not be able to provide these much needed programs here in Polk County!!!
