Some days, leadership looks like standing in front of the room.
And some days… it looks like trusting the seeds you planted to bloom without you. 🌸

Today I had to take a mental health day — pause, breathe, pour back into me.
And while I rested… my baby stepped up.

My daughter, Kira Mcfarlane, President of Girls Leave A Mark, ran our teen parent workshop like a true leader — teaching Boss Mindset & Boundaries with confidence, clarity, and courage.

She got out of her comfort zone.
She understood the assignment.
She didn’t just show up… she led. 👑

It felt so good to be back in the room with our teen parents today. 💗

It’s been a few months since our last workshop, and being back in their presence reminded me exactly why this work matters. The conversations were real. The energy was honest. The hope in the room was loud.

At Girls Leave A Mark, our mission is simple but powerful:
to support teen parents with life skills, career development, financial literacy, and consistent community—so they’re not just surviving, but building futures with confidence and dignity.

We’re officially gearing up for the remainder of the year and resuming our biweekly workshops, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. This is legacy work. This is impact in real time.

As we move forward, we’re calling in support.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of March to fund materials, workbooks, resources, and meaningful experiences for the young families we serve.

You know what humbles me every single time?
When a family is stressed… when a teen parent is overwhelmed… when someone whispers, “Lord, I need help today”…
