Welcome to the page for Red Pine Elementary PTO! PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The Secretary and Treasurer serve two years each.

All parents and teachers at Red Pine Elementary School are members of the Red Pine PTO. The PTO Board is made up of four individual members who serve as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Vice-President serves one year, followed by a year of serving as President.

Thanks to the generosity of our school community, the Glow Dance is happening on Friday, November 13! Now we need a few helping hands to make it a night to remember.

Because, as it turns out, glow sticks and good intentions don't organize themselves.

We're looking for parents and family members willing to help plan, coordinate, and volunteer for the big night. Whether you've helped with a PTO event before or this would be your first time, we'd love to have you!

First planning meeting: Monday, October 26, at 7:00 PM (virtual)

Well, Red Pine. That was quite a night.

Our fourth annual Trunk or Treat is officially in the books, and judging by the costumes, the smiles, and the amount of candy making its way home, we’d call it a pretty wonderful evening.

We had pirates, princesses, skeletons, superheroes, and at least a few costumes that required a second look to figure out. And somehow, the weather decided to cooperate, too. Not a bad October evening in Minnesota.

But the best part wasn’t the candy or the costumes. It was seeing so many Red Pine families together, enjoying a little time as a community.

A tremendous thank-you to everyone who made tonight possible.

To the families who decorated trunks, donated candy, volunteered their time, helped with setup and cleanup, and brought their creativity to the parking lot: you made the evening special.

And to everyone who came out, thank you for being part of it.

Events like this don’t happen because of one person or one committee. They happen because people show up for one another.

Tonight was a pretty good reminder of just how special that can be.

Thanks for a wonderful evening, Red Pine. Until next year!

Sometimes, the nicest things arrive when you’re not expecting them.

Our PTO recently received a handwritten thank-you card from Red Pine’s third-grade teachers, and it was a pretty wonderful reminder of why we do what we do.

Earlier this school year, we were able to provide teachers with Amazon gift cards to purchase supplies and materials for their classrooms. And judging by this note, those little investments are already making a difference.

But here’s the thing: this thank-you really belongs to all of you.

Every family that donated, volunteered, participated in an event, or helped spread the word made this possible.

The PTO may help organize the effort, but it’s our Red Pine community that makes it happen.

And apparently, we’ve got some pretty thoughtful third-grade teachers, too.

Thank you for all you do, Red Pine!

A quick housekeeping note from your friendly neighborhood PTO social media guy.

Apparently, Facebook now limits how many links Pages like ours can share for free each month. Which is a bit of a challenge when you’re a volunteer organization that regularly needs people to click on things.

Volunteer sign-ups, event information, fundraisers… you know, the glamorous world of elementary school PTO communications.

So, to make sure we can keep sharing everything you need, we’ll be putting more of our links in the comments instead of the posts themselves.

If you see us mention a sign-up or a link and can’t find it, just take a peek in the comments. We’ll do our best to make it easy.

Same PTO. Same helpful information. Just a few more clicks than we’d prefer.

Well, Red Pine. You did something pretty wonderful.

The numbers are in, and thanks to the generosity of our school community, this year’s Fall Fundraiser brought in $28,287!

After processing fees, that’s $27,572 going directly to Red Pine PTO to support our classrooms, specialists, student experiences, field-trip transportation, staff appreciation, family events, and all those little things that help make a school year memorable.

We may have finished a little shy of our original goal, but there’s something worth remembering: $27,572 is an awful lot of good headed right back into our school.

And speaking of good things…

THE GLOW DANCE IS ON! ✨🪩

That’s right. We’re celebrating anyway. Because a community showing up for its kids is worth celebrating.

Mark your calendars for Friday, November 13!

More details are coming, but we’d love to see our Red Pine families there. And, as with most good things around here, we’ll need a few helping hands to make it happen.

Okay, Red Pine. We’ve got one more day and a pretty good reason to finish strong.

Our school community has already raised approximately $26,000 through this year’s Fall Fundraiser. That’s something to celebrate.

But if we can reach $30,000 by Saturday, October 10, we’re unlocking a little something for EVERY Cardinal:

We’re about $4,000 away.

A school community doesn't run on good ideas alone. Although they're a pretty good place to start.

Our next Red Pine PTO meeting is Friday, October 9, at 8:00 AM in the Media Center.

Whether you've been involved for years, volunteered once, or have simply wondered what happens at a PTO meeting, you're welcome to join us.

It's an opportunity to hear what's happening, share ideas, ask questions, and get a better look at the work happening behind the scenes.

You don't need to hold a position or arrive with a brilliant suggestion. Sometimes just showing up and listening is a great place to begin.

We'd love to see you tomorrow morning!

Well, Red Pine, things are getting interesting.

We're in the final days of our Fall Fundraiser, and as of Thursday morning, you've helped raise $25,517 toward our $35,000 goal! That's 72% of the way there, thanks to a whole lot of generosity from our school community.

Meanwhile, Fourth Grade has apparently decided it would really like a pizza party.

They're sitting at $5,657 just $343 shy of their $6,000 grade-level goal!

But there's still time for the other grades to make their move. The competition runs through Saturday, October 10, and the grade that reaches the highest percentage of its goal earns a pizza party the following week.

And there's something in it for the whole school, too. If we reach $35,000, our Cardinals earn a Glow Dance in November!

Whether you've already donated, shared the fundraiser with family and friends, or are just getting around to it now, thank you. Every bit of support helps make the school year a little more memorable for our kids.

Red Pine, we made it to the final week.

And first things first: congratulations to 1st Grade, winners of last week’s Participation Challenge! They had the highest percentage of families with at least one donation and earned extra recess plus a special treat.

Now the scoreboard resets one last time.

Red Pine is entering the final week of the Fall Fundraiser with $21,222 raised, more than 60% of our $35,000 goal.

And somehow, Week 2 did not bring the usual fundraising slowdown. You just kept going.

For our final grade challenge, each grade is working toward the same $6,000 goal. The grade that finishes the week with the highest percentage of its goal reached wins a Pizza Party.

As of Sunday evening:

🥇 4th Grade — 75.8%
🥈 Kindergarten — 67.6%
🥉 1st Grade — 56.2%
2nd Grade — 54.5%
3rd Grade — 49.5%
5th Grade — 43.7%

Fourth grade has the lead. Kindergarten is very much within striking distance. And there’s enough week left for this whole thing to get interesting.

It also happens to be Spirit Week, so there will be plenty of Red Pine energy in the building while we head toward the finish line.

We interrupt Spirit Week and our regularly scheduled fundraising updates for a very important announcement.

Trunk or Treat is NINE DAYS AWAY.

On Wednesday, October 14, from 5:30–6:30 PM, the Red Pine parking lot will once again fill with costumes, decorated trunks, and an impressive amount of candy.

We're looking forward to seeing our Cardinals out in full Halloween glory.

And if you'd like to help make the evening happen, there's still an opportunity to get involved.

Decorate a trunk, donate some individually wrapped candy, lend a hand with setup, or help us put everything away afterward.

No professional decorating experience required. No need to transform your vehicle into a haunted mansion. Although we certainly won't discourage you.

Candy donations can be dropped off at the school office.
