Durham Lions The Durham Lions Club is the oldest service organization in Durham, CT The Durham Lions Club is the oldest service organization in Durham, CT.

Its mission is to help enhance the quality of life in Durham, support local needs, support vision care and research locally and internationally, and at the same time have some fun and make some friends. We provide scholarships and awards to local students, run photo i.d. clinics for children, support those who need an extra hand at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and publish a local telephone director

y which is very “user friendly.” We also support State and International efforts at eye research, disease prevention, and disease care. The Club also direct supports efforts to deliver better health and eye care in the outlying communities of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at Perk On Main in Durham and members of the general public are invited.

The Durham Lions are grateful for a wonderful visit from Lions District 23C Governor Jim Tripp along with his wife, Liz, and Lions Zone Chair Pam Zimmerman. The Durham Lions meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Community Center. Please contact us if you would consider joining! Debbie Proctor, a Durham Lion, met with the Lions Club from El Progreso Honduras when the local club stopped by with Dunkin Donuts for the kids at Copprome Orphanage. The Durham Lions help support Honduras Children's Project which pays for the education and on site teachers for the children at Copprome.
