Thedukebooster The Newspaper of Duke Oklahoma http://www.thedukebooster.com The first Duke Booster newspaper was published for the town of East Duke in 1911 and 1912. Donna K.

The paper was also called The Duke Booster-Times. I located this information from the Library of Congress. It is on microfilm at the Oklahoma Historical Society. When we sold The Duke Times in the late 70's the publishers stopped its publication a few years later and Duke was left without a community newspaper. I took it upon myself to start a weekly newsletter some 29 years ago and thanks to the

Combs family, it has continued. We are in the process of creating a webpage for The Duke Booster so you will be able to read the Duke news on this site. Thank you for your support of The Booster through the years and your continued support will be deeply appreciated!! Lanford

A message from County Commissioner Rhet Johnson:

"I am proud to support Tandy Johns for County Commissioner! โ˜‘๏ธ

This job takes more than a title. It takes common sense, steady judgment, a strong work ethic, and a real understanding of the people and roads that make up this district. Tandy Johns has those qualities.

Tandy is from here. He knows Jackson County, he understands the needs of our rural communities, and he has spent his life around the kind of work that matters in this office. His background in construction and dirt work gives him practical experience that will serve him well as County Commissioner.

More importantly, Tandy is the kind of person people can trust. He is honest, hardworking, and grounded. He listens, he shows up, and he cares about doing things the right way.

Tandy is running for the right reasons. He wants to serve the people of District 3, take care of the responsibilities of the office, and help keep Jackson County moving in the right direction.
I believe Tandy Johns is the right person for the job, and I encourage you to support him for County Commissioner.

The polls are open until 7pm today. If you have not already, I encourage you to get out and vote. And vote for the candidate with the Practical Experience, Honest Leadership, and Local Commitment that we need in our County Commissioner!"

Vote tomorrow June 16, 2026 for Tandy Johns for
Jackson County Commissioner, District 3
Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

My background includes small business ownership, construction, and dirt work. Those experiences have given me a practical understanding of hard work, equipment, planning, budgeting, and solving problems in the real world.

That kind of experience matters in a county commissioner role because the job is practical by nature.

It involves roads, equipment, budgets, infrastructure, communication, and day-to-day decisions that affect people across the district.

I believe practical experience, honest leadership and local commitment help bring a grounded approach to public service. An approach that is focused on doing the work, understanding the details, and making decisions that make sense for the county.

Can I count on your vote? Share if you agree in Practical Experience - Honest Leadership - Local Commitment!

Accountability matters in county government. โ˜‘๏ธ

For me, honest and accountable leadership means being accessible, straightforward, and willing to listen to the people of District 3.

County commissioner is a hands-on role. It requires communication, follow-through, and a willingness to answer questions directly.

People should know where their commissioner stands, how decisions are being made, and whether the work is getting done.

That kind of transparency and steady communication is an important part of public service.

Early voting is open today until 2pm. Get out and make your voice heard and help us spread the word by sharing this post!

Responsible spending is one of the pillars Iโ€™ve emphasized throughout this campaign. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

County government has a responsibility to respect taxpayer dollars and make practical, common-sense decisions with the county budget.

That means looking carefully at priorities, understanding long-term needs, avoiding waste, and making sure public dollars are used in ways that serve the people of the district.

Budgets matter because they reflect what county government is focused on.

My approach is simple: be practical, be accountable, and treat taxpayer dollars with the seriousness they deserve.

If you agree with me, I encourage you to get out and vote! Early voted has started and will continue until 6pm today.
