🐾 Give the Shy Dogs a Chance 🐾

One of the hardest things to watch is when a wonderful dog gets overlooked simply because they’re nervous during a meet and greet.

Imagine being taken to a new place, meeting complete strangers, and being expected to show your entire personality in just a few minutes. For many dogs, especially those who have experienced neglect, abandonment, or multiple changes in their lives, that’s a lot to ask.

The dog hiding behind their foster’s legs may become the dog that follows you from room to room.

The dog avoiding eye contact may become the one who watches over you every day.

The dog who seems unsure today may become your most loyal best friend tomorrow.

Confidence doesn’t always show up on day one. Sometimes the best dogs are the ones who need a little extra time to feel safe, loved, and understood.

When you meet a shy dog, don’t just look at who they are in that moment. Look at who they could become when they finally realize they’re home.

Some of the most devoted companions we’ve ever placed were the dogs that needed a chance before they needed a family.

Love matters. Sometimes it just takes a little patience for love to bloom. ❤️🐾

It looks like the weather might actually cooperate for the beach party at doodles and whiskers tomorrow!! Yayyy!! This should be a very fun event. PLEASE try to be there. And if you don’t are looking for volunteer opportunities, we could use your help at this event!!!

Ok friends. We need some help 😞
I posted our spay and neuter bill a couple of days ago and got 2 donations totaling $400
that’s a huge help and I’m so thankful for it! But we still have a way to go. And today we had a dog get sick and need to go to the vet immediately. This is the bill for that visit. Thankfully she doesn’t have anything that isn’t easily treated, but it’s a big bill. When people complain about our adoption fees, this is why it gets under my skin so bad. You see, these are the kinds of bills that make rescue VERY hard to stay afloat. The adoption fees simply do not cover this. Bills like this paired with spay and neuter, vaccines, dewormer, monthly preventative, and food every day…that’s the bare minimum. Please, understand we are not making money. We are losing money. Period.

But that wasn’t the reason for this post. The reason for the post is to ask for help with this bill. I could try to make a cute and funny post, or I can make a heartfelt emotional post, but I’m just making an honest post this time. Can you help. Even just a few dollars?
