On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Douglas Lions Club awarded the Buck Preston Scholarship, the Willie Pearl Davis Scholarship, and the Leo Club Scholarship to graduating seniors from Coffee County High School and Citizens Christian Academy. Each year, 12th grade students are encouraged to apply for these three scholarships, which recognize academic achievement, leadership skills, extracurricular involvement, and community service. Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients. We wish each graduate great success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.🎓💕
➡️The Buck Preston Sportsmanship Scholarship is presented annually to a graduating senior at Coffee High School in honor of Montgomery L. “Buck” Preston Jr. This award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, and citizenship. The 2026 recipient is Grayson Taylor, son of Andrea Dorminey Taylor and Lee and Courtney Taylor. Grayson will attend the University of Georgia to study Business and Media Studies.
➡️The Willie Pearl Davis Leadership Scholarship is a club award presented to exceptional female graduates of Coffee High School. This year’s recipient is Regina “Gigi” Lewis, daughter of Ron and Julee Brooke Lewis. Gigi plans to attend University of Georgia and major in Accounting.
➡️The Leo Club Scholarship is awarded to students with average or above average academics who actively volunteer in their community and demonstrate honor, integrity, Christian values, and leadership skills. Recipients are selected by a review panel based on their application and records. The 2026 scholarship, sponsored by the CCA Leo Club and the Douglas Lions Club, was awarded to Abrah Harris, daughter of Jason and Brandy Harris. District 18N Wildfire Relief – Statewide Call for Support
Georgia Lions,

As you have likely seen through recent news reports, devastating wildfires are currently impacting several communities across Georgia—most significantly within District 18N.
Lions in the affected areas are already responding. Clubs in and around Douglas and other impacted communities have mobilized quickly, working alongside local fire departments and emergency personnel. Supplies are being collected, organized, and delivered directly to those on the front lines.

In Douglas, a community still recovering from Hurricane Helene, Lions and Leos are once again stepping forward. Local collection sites have been established, and volunteers are actively receiving, organizing, and transporting supplies to the areas of greatest need. The Douglas Lions Club is currently serving as a central coordination point for these efforts, with the support of District 18N GST Leader, Cathy Williams.

At this time, financial contributions are the most effective way to assist, as they allow for the immediate purchase of specifically requested supplies for firefighters and affected families. Needs are evolving rapidly and will continue to shift in the days ahead.

How You Can Help:
• Make a financial contribution to support relief efforts
• Encourage your club members to participate
• Continue to monitor updates as additional needs are identified

To Contribute:
Venmo: (please note “for fire” in the memo)
Or mail a check to:
P.O. Box 2095
Douglas, GA 31534

Clubs or individuals who wish to donate supplies or coordinate additional support may contact us directly for guidance to ensure efforts are aligned with current needs. Cathy Williams email address is: [email protected] and phone contact is: 912-389-6106.
Lions, this is a time for us to come together in service. Your support will make an immediate and meaningful difference for both the brave men and women fighting these fires and the families affected by them.

Thank you for your continued commitment to serving others.

In Service,
John Goodin
