See ya Monday 8/31/26 at Rotary… program is Melanie Hill providing an update from Senator Katie Britt’s office.

As a reminder, our Beverlye School Drive is currently underway. This is a great opportunity for our club to support local students and teachers by helping provide much-needed classroom supplies.

Beverlye serves approximately 110 students per grade level across 16 classrooms, and the following items are currently needed:

Kleenex for classrooms and office spaces.
Clorox disinfecting wipes.
Hand sanitizer.
Lysol spray.
Ticonderoga pencils.
Electric pencil sharpeners for classrooms.
Student pencil pouches.
Privacy folders for student desks.
Cap erasers.
Highlighters.

No donation is too small, and every item contributed helps create a better learning environment for students and teachers alike.

Today we were updated on the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce by Matt Parker. (Will Gholson program)

Matt Parker serves as President of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and acts as the lead economic developer for business recruitment and existing industry expansion across southeast Alabama.
Professional Overview
Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce: Joined in 1995 as Vice President of Economic Development and was named President in 1999.
Prior Experience: Began his community and economic development career in 1989 at the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission (SEARP&DC)

Key Achievements: Has helped generate over $3.4 billion in capital investment and facilitated the creation of over 22,000 jobs in the Wiregrass region. Led key infrastructure and site developments, including the Houston County Distribution Park, General Purpose Foreign Trade Zone No. 233, Napier Field Industrial Park, Westgate Super Site, and Sam Houston Industrial Park.
Recognition: Awarded the Economic Development Association of Alabama's Dave Echols Award ("Economic Developer of the Year") and inducted into the Dothan Area Business Hall of Fame in 2025.
Education & Background
Hometown: Born in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Education: Earned a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Auburn University, completed economic development certification through the University of Oklahoma, and did continuing education work at Troy University.
Athletics: Competed in cross country and track and field at Auburn University, where he was an All-SEC middle-distance runner and enjoys coaching at Houston Academy at Cross Country and Track and Field.
Community Leadership: Graduate of Leadership Alabama, Paul Harris Fellow, and board member for several state and civic organizations.
