Leeanne Maltbie creates small, but compelling, fabric collages that are fetured in our current exhibition at Dillsboro Arts Friendship Gallery. This piece, "Natural Surprise," is a combination of dyed fabric, dyed lace and stone beads, embellished with embroidery and appliqué.

This artwork, "Bricks and Mortar" is included in our current Collage and Mixed Media exhibition at Dillsboro Arts Friendship Gallery. It was made using tradional quilt techniques in an innovative way. The artist, Roberta Robinson, is showing her work along with 5 other artists in the gallery until September 26, open Saturdays 10:00-2:00, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00 and other times by appointment.

"Costa Rica Calling" is a collage and acrylic paint artwork by Marianne Wiggers in our current exhibition at Dillsboro Arts Friendship Gallery.

Marianne's statement: "My paintings start out as a hot mess, with no idea where it is going. If I do try to plan, often times I change course and something else emerges. Such fun, sometimes frustrating, to simply let the work speak to me. Collage has definitely added another layer of depth in my art."

Leeanne Maltbie brought together fabrics, discarded neckties, printed paper, beads and even a section of a walnut in this collage entitled, "Squares # 3". She then sewed and embroidered embellishments to complete the piece.
