"Home" is the theme. Karen Lippowiths shows a different meaning to the word entirely.

Her exibit, "Extended Stay: Inside America's Shadow Housing System" features Leland House residents and others from across the country, all currently calling a hotel/motel home.

Members of River Pointe Tower Tenants Union, a chapter of the Detroit Tenants Union, attended Detroit’s City Council Formal Session on Tuesday March 24 2026 to request support from councilmembers in obtaining a written response to their Union demands.

River Pointe Tower is owned and managed by Capital Realty Group.

Moshe Eichler, President of Capital Realty Group, has refused to respond in writing to Union demands of the River Pointe Tower Tenants Union.

Moshe should be expecting a call from Detroit’s District 4 Councilmember, Latisha Johnson, regarding our Union demands, and our requested written response.

We demand a written response to our Union demands, immediately!

We want a WRITTEN RESPONSE to Union demands!

Members of the River Pointe Tower Tenants Union gave public comment to ask Detroit councilmembers for support in obtaining a WRITTEN RESPONSE from the owner/manager of River Pointe Tower regarding current Union demands.

Not random notices, not a meeting to go over our own leases.

We want a WRITTEN RESPONSE to current Union demands from either the owner or management of River Pointe Tower.

River Pointe Tower is owned by Capital Realty Group and is managed "in house."

RPTTU Publicly requested that management / owner provide a written response to Union demands, with a hard deadline of March 20 2026.

Instead of providing a written response to union demands, management held a meeting to review the residents lease agreements.

This is unacceptable. So now we escalate.

River Point Tower Tenants Union will give public comment at Detroit City Council on Tuesday, March 24th 2026.

Union members will ask for Councilmembers support in obtaining a written response from the management / owner of River Pointe Tower regarding current Union demands.
