EcoWorks is a Detroit-based non-profit with over thirty years of providing services at the intersection of community development and sustainability. While our roots are firmly planted in energy conservation, we have grown to emphasize all aspects of sustainable development as it relates to building affordable, energy efficient housing, educating community members, and engaging youth in green school programs.

Detroit’s recent heat wave was a reminder that extreme weather doesn’t just affect our comfort, it can disrupt the services communities depend on most. It’s also a reminder of why investing in resilience matters before an emergency happens.

They safely stored food overnight, chartered transportation for community members, and helped ensure hundreds of households continued receiving food when they needed it most. At EcoWorks, our work goes beyond buildings and energy projects. We invest in trusted community organizations so they can continue providing essential services during emergencies and extreme weather. Because when challenges arise, communities deserve places they can count on.

Big conversations on clean energy and climate leadership are happening right here in Detroit 💡🌍

Known as the Motor City, Detroit helped shape America’s industrial rise while also carrying the lasting economic and environmental impacts that came with it. Today, our city is continuing to transform through community-driven climate solutions, clean energy initiatives, and environmental justice work led by residents and local organizations.

The 2025 Hard Hats for Detroit art auction is live‼️

In partnership with Sachse Construction, sponsored by LuxWall, Inc., April Wagner of epiphany studios has created a gorgeous hard hat from blown glass, coated in NASA-grade dichroic glass coating.

This work of art is live in auction as of this morning‼️
